I just got this in my work e-mail and I did it right away! Wanted to share it w/ you guys.

The following information was first passed along from John Farina. ICE or “In Case of Emergency” was started by a paramedic in Britain in 2005 who was frustrated by the difficulties of trying to get in touch with the “next of kin” or an “emergency contact” when a victim could not respond. ICE has been recently profiled on public radio, in the Washington Post, on MSNBC and on the website, Snopes.Com (an interesting form of reading material on urban legends) as a proposed initiative for emergency response that will hopefully catch on here in the United States.
In order to make this work, you would have to disable your PIN if you use one to access contacts on your phone and carry your cell phone with you most of the time. I suppose most people do the latter. A cell phone doesn’t typically identify the owner, but if used in conjunction with your ID, ICE could be utilized in an emergency especially if you currently do not carry ICE information with you……………………..
Paramedics will turn to a victim's cell phone for clues to that person's identity. You can make their job much easier with a simple idea that they are trying to get everyone to adopt:
"ICE"
ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. If you add an entry in the contacts list in your cell phone under ICE, with the name and phone number of the person that the emergency services should call on your behalf, you can save them a lot of time and have your loved ones contacted quickly. It only takes a few moments of your time to do.
Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately. ICE your cell phone NOW!
And here I thought my use of HOME was good. That will get my mother and sister. When I set it over two and a half years ago I thought that would help if something ever happened to me.
Of course, when I read the title I though maybe you stuck your phone in the freezer. I went grocery shopping a few weeks ago, my hands were full so I slid my phone into one of the bags. After I arrived home, I put all the stuff away. I bought corn on the cob that day so I just put the whole bag in the fridge. Later I was ready to go out and couldn't find the phone. I went through all the bags, then I thought maybe I left it in the cart. Then it occured to me that there was one bag not with the others. I opened the frige, reached for the corn and there was my phone in the bottom of the bag. D'oh!

I know really! Jd - what's the station number? Does the station have a phone??
btw- walked past some semi-wet concrete today. didn't have the guts to pull a sparky. but you gotta realize I work in the city - like downtown w/ tons of people around. it would have taken me forever to write the whole address. now I can just litter w/ my new promo materials. thanks, jd. finally got them today.
I just got our company newsletter and it had a section talking about adding ICE to your phone. I decided to see if it was on here and here it is. Not a bad thing to let other people know about.
