Hi all! I've been suffering a bad case of the doldroms lately and haven't felt very chatty, but I have been visiting the forum as a guest every day to keep up with all my friends.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and let you guys know that I'm still around.
I worked on my air conditioner first thing this morning. The AC here at the office is a window unit that is cut into a hole in the wall. I had to get a new one last spring and it worked fine all last summer. This year, it has been leaking water inside the room.
I opened it up this morning and I think I found the problem. There is an amazing amount of light that comes through this AC from the outside. That much light means that much cold air in the winter. When I installed it, I poked some insulation around places where I could see daylight coming through. Apparently, I had plugged the hole where the water gets from the front around to the back so it can drain outside. I pulled the insulation back out. I'll have to find a way to winterize it better before it gets cold.
I expect that to be fixed, I won't know for sure until later today when I turn it back on.
I called the appliance repair man. He thinks he can meet me back at the house to try to figure out why our fancy-schmancy washing machine leaks during every load.
Howdy folks! It's an absolutely beautiful morning in the Tulsa metro. Had a cool front move through last night with a little rain. Looks like we will get break this week with morning temps in the 60's and highs in the 80's. Could be headed your way, Fuzzy...
I have a busy day ahead trying get a step ahead of month / quarter end...

Good day, all. It was sunny and already 81* on my drive in. Not so bad now that the AC in my truck is back to working. It looks like we are supposed to be in the mid 80's all week which is a nice change of pace from the mid 90's. We will see how the humidity goes. Not complaining though... I'd way rather be sweaty than shivering.
Got an all hands meeting in about 8 minutes. Not sure what's up with that. Otherwise, not a lot going on today. Spent most of the morning being quizzed about my weekend trip... everyone here knows I'm NOT a camper, so they have been looking forward to my perspective on all things "outdoorsy". You should have seen the looks of awe when I admitted to using a port-a-potty.

One thing I didn't mention about my weekend was all the bug bites I got. I must taste like chocolate cake ala mode to mosquitoes. I got 22 on one knee, and that doesn't count the other knee, my calf, or my thigh. And I used 2 different types of bug spray. At one point, right after I sprayed the first one on, a mosquito landed IN the wet spray and bit me.
I slathered on the cortizone lotion this morning, and that helped a lot. But now it's worn off. I should've brought some with me. MY LEGS ITCH!!!!
Owww! Mosquitos love to feast on me too. If I miss a spot with bug spray, they will find it. I usually use the stuff Avon puts out, but I didn't get any this year so I tried Cutter and it does not work well at all...

I was wearing pants! They bit right through. I would think that it was a different type of bug if I hadn't been constantly killing the mosquitoes that were biting me, I have so many bites. I've never been eaten up this bad before. It looks like I have chicken pox. Last night I looked like I had been in a fight; I have a bite under each eye, and I was so tired I had circles under my eyes. Brian said, "Great. Now people are going to think I beat you." I laughed at him and said, "No they wouldn't. Or if they did, if I looked like that, they'd probably assume I put you in the hospital."
I started out with Naturapel (or something like that). It didn't seem to do anything. That's the stuff the one mosquito landed in. Then I switched to Cutter's Skintastic, which is their version of Avon's Skin So Soft. It worked so much better. That reminds me, I should probably place an order for Skin So Soft from my Avon lady.
I came back with a few new mosquito bites, but nothing too bad. I sprayed Deep Woods Off on my arms and legs before we went to the river, but figured it was a waste of time once we were there because it was really hot and humid so I was sweating a lot and applying sunscreen at about every stop. Over night on Friday I had a couple of those Off clip-on things going in the truck. Those seem to work pretty well.

I'll have to give it a try just being outside. I thought perhaps part of the reason it seemed to work well was that we were in a semi-enclosed environment.

I'll probably use mine again. I invested in a couple refills since I thought I would be down at the farm for 2 nights. Apparently each refill is supposed to last 12 hours.
