What's on tap for the weekend?

Does anyone have plans for the weekend? Is there anything special going on in different parts of the country?

I have nothing big planned. The usual weekend stuff such as cleaning and yardwork. I have been invited to go to the ballgame on Sunday afternoon where it will be hotter than a cat on a hot tin roof and where the Phillies are going to smack the Brewers around for a while. Go Phillies!

It's the 65th annual Sturgis motorcycle Rally all next week. I'll probably go downtown and have an Indian taco and a beer.

I am going to stay up late and sleep in and read my book and play video games.  I'll probably do a little design work too, but that doesn't really feel like work, so that's okay.  And, I can do still do that after a few drinks!

Yeah, drinking and video games. They can go together. I like it.

Phat cat, have a beer for each of us. That should make your night. Just don't have a taco for each of us too.

Enjoy a good sweat to go along with the Philly loss, Fuzzy!!

Tonight is grilling out, sunshine, wine and tunes.

Tomorrow I hope to get some good sit with the ducks and reading time in. & then hopefully trying this new Italian Restaruant that is located in what used to be an old bar that I used to go to. (Stork Club- Somechick might know where I mean?) Supposed to be really good and really inexpensive!!

Sunday, well thats JAZZ DAY!!!

Do we really want to know what an Indian taco is? Maybe it just is their version of a taco.

And the Brewers are going down!

You've never had an Indian taco???

Ok, here it goes:

You take fry bread, (like elephant ears you get at the carnival - the sugar) and put

taco meat, refried beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream, onions, black olives, lettuce and tomato on top.

If you have never had one I reccomend going home and making one!

NASCAR's in town. I'll be at the track all day Saturday and Sunday. I hope to get some good pictures. If anyone has a favorite driver and would like pictures let me know. I'll try to get 'em.

Hey Ray that is nice of you to offer. I do not have a favorite driver, but my sister's boys are Harvick and Earnhart. If you happen to come across them.

I am installing new flooring in my living room, hallway, kitchen and dining room.

Its supposed to be 104 out here in South western Idaho and so I am glad that I am going to be indoors in the air conditioning.

For me, Disney, Golf and church.  I am glad that someone has ambition Stevie.  I sure don't  I am far too lazy and hire people to do it.  I get to impatient and NEVER read the instructions.

Indian tacos just sound like Gorditas from Taco Bell.

Hey Ray, while you're there, cheer on Joe Nemechek for me.  I don't need any pictures of him though, unless he wins.  His team supports COTA, so every time he wins, he donates some of his winnings to our patients.

Personally, because of the Brickyard, I am going no where near Indy this weekend.  I'm looking more for quiet and solitude this weekend...

Seasoned Hamburger:

1 pound ground chuck or sirloin
Taco seasoning
1 cup refried beans

Frybread:

3 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon powdered milk
1 tablespoon lard or margarine
1 1/2 cups warm water
Vegetable oil

Grated cheese, as an accompaniment
Chopped tomatoes, as an accompaniment
Chopped onions, as an accompaniment
Chopped green chiles, as an accompaniment
Chopped olives, as an accompaniment
Salsa, as an accompaniment
Sour cream, as an accompaniment

Brown the beef in saute pan over medium-high heat. Add taco seasoning, to taste. Add refried beans. Mix well and set aside.
For the Frybread: Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and powdered milk. Add lard or margarine and mix. Add water to make dough soft. Refrigerate until use. Dough will keep several days.

In a heavy skillet, heat 3/4-inch of oil to 375 degrees F.

Pat or roll out dough into about 6 (1/4 to 3/8-inch thick) rounds. Slide into hot oil. Puncture once or twice. Fry until golden brown. Flip the dough over and fry other side to golden brown. Take out and drain on paper towels.

Spoon some meat onto hot bread and top with your choice of the following: cheese, tomatoes, onions, green chiles, olives, salsa, and sour cream.

Saturday I'm dressing in my finest frayed shorts, tank, gloves, bug spray, sun lotion, netted hat, steel-toed hiking boots, scythe, blowtorch, elephant gun and taking on my seriously dilapidated townhome's backyard.

Sunday I'm taking the train to NYC in my new black t-shirt with a cow being tossed on it reading "Fetchez la vache!" and my coconut halves and my friend with her black t-shirt reading "I'm not dead yet" and her plush black knight with tear-away limbs and going to see SPAMALOT!!! If I er, haven't raved enough about it yet.

They do, JD? I've never been on one - except a local mile long excursion a local train enthusiast does on nice weekends and holidays. I've never been on a high speed one with a destination in mind. Good to know!

How long is the ride, ZIM?

When we went to New Orleans, it took 19 hrs, even had a sleeper car, but that was really a long long ride. But in hind-site I would do it again!

I like to get to Chicago 2-3 times a year and its an 1 1/2 hr train ride! I love it! and will never drive to Chicago ever again! The train tooo convenient!

Sit back and enjoy the scenery! Might I recommend a walkman or an ipod!!

I'm leaving from Baltimore, so it's however long it takes from Baltimore to New York.

I'm too much a country bumpkin however - I'd be afraid to walk around NYC with an iPod for fear of the invisible sign above my head that says "Mug here" But I plan to bring a book I can't seem to put down...
