If no, feel blessed. If yes, then you will understand the pain I have been in today. It has eased off slightly and I needed my fix of FFR. However, the sound of the keyboard is hurting! I just wanted to share this cute joke I just got:
How To Avoid The Flu ..........
Eat right! Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies. Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C. Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system. Walk for at least an hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around. Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible. Get plenty of rest. Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

Take the doctor's office approach. Think about it... When you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol .. Why?
Because alcohol kills germs.
So.......
I walk to the liquor store. (exercise ) I put lime in my Corona and margueritas...(fruit) Celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies) Drink outdoors on the porch at the Cape..(fresh air) Tell jokes, laugh..(eliminate stress) Then pass out. (rest)
The way I see it...
If you keep your alcohol levels up,
flu germs can't get you!!!!
My grandmother always said, "A shot in the glass is better than one in the ass!"
I don't get migraines, but my husband does. He hasn't had a migraine since he stopped drinking red wine though. But I have a friend that gets a migraine about once a month and it usually knocks her out for a couple days.
I have had migraines. I don't like mountain dew but that seems to be a cure all if I chug one down when I feel one coming on. I don't know if it works for everyone.
CP, didn't you try it last time you had one?

I have been fighting a migraine since last sunday night. I went to the doctor on Wed, I think. The gave me a shot of vesteril, for nausea and demerol for the pain. I just sent my wife to the store to get my Imitrex filled as another migraine is coming on. In the meantime I took Excedrin Migraine, 400 mg of Motrin and two Sudafed. I call that my headache cocktail It gets downed with diet pepsi.
I don't envy you Rub--I wouldn't wish these migraines on my worst enemy. When it gets bad enough all I can do is lie in a dark room. do your get as bad as mine sometime? There are times that I just want to put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger because the pain is so fierce and intense. But even moving hurts. Hope yours and mine go away soon, I should have filled the prescription earlier becasue the Imitrex does nothing if I take it too late.
I have not had a migraine since before my son was born. I used to get them almost once a month and a trip to the doctor and a shot in the a$$ seemed to be all that helped.
I too have done a couple of cocktails today- coffee and 8 advils for breakfast, then I fell asleep for three hours, next cocktail- diet pepsi 6 more advil and added an advil cold and sinus for the heck of it. There is a dull pain behind my left eye but as the mom I need to bounce back. I called my doctor and he said that he would phone in the imitrex presception for me, so off to see the wallrats I go!
Maybe I need to have another baby, maybe having her brought them back? If that is the case, that is a tough choice!
My friend tries to take Imitrex, but she's terrible at waiting until it's too late before she takes it. Which is weird, because she has no problem taking other substances that she shouldn't. I think those contribute to her headaches. But other friends have tried to tell her that, and she denies it, so I just keep my mouth shut.
My mom and her sisters get them bad - is there any association with migraines and smoking. I've been fortunate to only get the occasional caffiene withdrawal headache. My dad gets these horrible cluster headaches that come and go for a few days - he's miserable while they're around. So far I am counting my lucky stars...
I know your pain. I used to get them but haven't had one in a long time. The only thing that I can do when I get them is what I call "mole". Which is head under the covers and total silence. I haven't had one since April when I stopped drinking so much Diet Coke. Don't know if there is any connection or not but I am don't miss the headaches.
I heard you weren't feeling well today, I'm happy you're doing a little better!
I've never had a migraine, I don't ever get headaches even. But my Dad has had migraines and I know it usually brings him to his knees, and he's a pretty tough old guy!
I had a migraine once , it lasted about a week ( she left) . on the serious side , no I dont get them . I know Tony Stewart gets them so bad he has to lay down in an RV for a few hours in total darkness with a damp towel on his head . I guess tylenol doesn't work on them.
