And THAT my friends, is how you beat the Phillies!

Alright, I wanted a sweep, but as my favorite singer of all time says, TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD!

A nice n' tidy route of the Phil's this weekend, finished up with our 2-0 blanking of them today, and the Brewers head home at .500, only 4 games out of the wild card (3.5 if the Astro's lose tonight) having completed a 4-2 road trip.

Bring on the Cardinals!!!!!

nah a .500 record tho is good- = wins and losses= really playing ball worth watching, a contender- sure not in the elite, but on the right path to being able to contend with the elite. Right now the St Louis Cardinals just dominate the division the Brewers play in. If we get the wild-card spot, its us and most likely the Cardinals and Chicago Cubs slugging it out in the post-season to wih the division.

The division leaders then slug it out to determine who goes to the world series!

The last time, the only time the Brewers were in a world series was 1982. This town was magical then. I was 12 yrs old, we didn't even live on a busy street, but there was still a parade of cars heading up the block with big Brewers flags, honking horns, the town was bonkers!!

Okay, okay. The Brewers managed to squeek out a series win.    But the Phillies managed to take the season series. That three game sweep the last time they were in town helped.

First, the Phillies blew Friday's game when they had at least six chances to win. That is how we do things here (in case you all didn't know). Second, the Brew crew only managed to win today because the Phillies couldn't get the runner in scoring position home with NO outs in three different innings. The Phillied had their chances and blew it. Shocker. At least the Phillies smacked the Brewers around Saturday. That has to count for something. Now, if we could have a catcher and a third baseman that could hit, we may be doing a little better. And I do have to say that the umpiring in Saturday and Sunday's games was awful for both sides.

The Brewers have no shot at a wild card if they do not stay above .500. And the Phillies are still a little ahead in that race. There is plenty of baseball left to play.

Bring on the stinky Packers!

Professor - you probably did. I am severly disappointed in the boys today. I even went to the game. They usually win when I get to go. I am still bummed.

I see. Now you are trying to humor me.   We shall see. Plenty of games to be played and football is here. I feel that as long as the Phillies finishe with a higher record that your beloved Brewers, that progress is made. Don't worry, there is still plenty of time for the Phillies to blow it.

Bring on hockey season. Let's go Flyers!

Webguy - the professor entertains very nicely.

WILD CARD HERE WE COME.

That's ALL I'm sayin!!!!

All the excuses in the world can't take this away from us.  During the week the Phils took two of three from the cubbies. We came in and took 2 of 3 in the land of Phil!

Earlier in the week we took 2 of 3 from the Met's in NY, this weekend the Cubs get swept in NY.

Yet only the CUBS are ever seriously mentioned as Wild Card contenders.

KEEP ON UNDERESTIMATING US EVERYONE!  IT TAKES THE  PRESSURE OFF!

Please JR - the Mets suck. But be glad that they have taken three from the Cubs.
