Fetchez la vache!

JD - the train ride was a lot of fun. We rode down business class and came back first class. Both were great experiences. Especially the ride home. There were only four of us in first class. We sat across from Michael Nouri (lead role in Flashdance) and at the second stop two women entered the car and sat two seats behind us. Initially we both glanced at the second in her dark Jackie-O sunglasses and then looked at each other and said "No way, lookalike..." but then one of us went back to use the restroom and then later the ticket was verified to us by the car attendant - we had Sarah Jessica Parker two seats behind us for the entire trip! You always wonder what stars are like in person, neither of us bugged her for an autograph or anything even though my friend owns the entire Sex in the City set and I loved borrowing them from her! I saw some lady in coach try to get across the cars, that was funny.

And Spamalot was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Alas Tim Curry had his stand-in, but the guy looked and acted so much like him if the Playbill hadn't recognized the other actor I wouldn't have known. The play was absolutely wonderful, and anyone who enjoys Monty Python, and even those who don't, will absolutely love it. They didn't completely stick to the script, of course, it's Broadway - flair was definitely added - oh, and a Diva. But some of the costumed characters looked like they had been magically pulled out of the movie and placed on stage - the spitting image, exact voice and carbon-copied costumes! Some pure Pythonians might walk away feeling they mangled the script too much but I think they added to it for what it was - a Broadway play.... lights, glitter and cheesy dance numbers galore presented with the appropriate tongue in cheek Python humor. I'd go see it again in a heartbeat!!

It was a day trip from here in Maryland to NYC to see the Sunday matinee of Spamalot. Just enough time leaving here at 10am, get a nice lunch in New York and see the play in before heading home. I've never seen a broadway play and this seemed like an appropriate first... I'd also love to see Avenue Q and The Producers, but I don't HAVE to see those. I HAD to see Spamalot.

I popped Monty Python in the DVD the other night but I didn't get a chance to finish it. I had also watched History of the World - Part I

No, but they had a lovely fish-slapping number in the first act.

Did they have any Carol Cleveland blow up dolls. Strickly for laughs of course!
