I'm tired of fluorescent lighting. I was in a pretty good mood when I was out in the sun this morning, but I feel like this artificial light is sucking the life out of me. I've heard of filters you can get to make it a little easier to deal with. Anyone have any experience with these? Granted, I'm absolutely broke (cashing in change for groceries broke), so I don't know when I'd actually go out and buy them. But I can put it on my future wishlist.
Mz, I havent heard to much about those filters, but like you I work under flourescent lighting. I know the sterility of that light isnt all that pleasant.
I had the chance to sleep last night since I am off today. You folks dont know how lucky you are to be able to sleep at night on a regular basis.
Good day, all. It is rainy again here today, but I won't complain. I'm so ready for the weekend. As long as all goes right, I will have the house to myself from tomorrow thru Monday evening. That just flat out makes me happy.
The challenge for me today is that the charger port on my phone has broken. I'm going to the PCS store when I get off this conference call (that actually has nothing to do with me) but I have my doubts that they can simply replace the port. I'm betting that they tell me that I need to replace my phone. That there is going to be inconvenient at best since I have the insurance plan which means they will have to ship me a phone. I would likely get it by Saturday, but my battery will long since be dead. I don't know anyone who has a phone like mine so getting it charged by someone else isn't going to happen either. Hoping the store can hook me up. I've even looked into one of those Powermat chargers, but it implies that the micro-USB port needs to be used to charge the phone... which if it was useable I wouldn't have this issue in the first place.
Anyhoo... hope everyone has a great day.

And I was right... the PCS store told me that they cannot fix my phone. I have to have it replaced. I'd suppose that it is fortunate that I have the insurance plan because it is only costing me $100 to get it replaced, instead of the $300 it cost when I actually got the phone. Hopefully I will have the replacement phone tomorrow. The store couldn't even charge the battery for me. They did give me a loaner battery which has approximately the same amount of charge on it as my current battery. But in the meantime I remembered thinking that my friend, Woody, does have the same phone as me (noticed that a couple weeks ago) and he is being awesome enough to charge my battery in his phone.

Well, I probably couldn't have a long conversation, but I should be good to go for brief conversations and text messages. I am keeping the loaner battery until tomorrow so I will have a little extra power just in case.
The new phone should be here tomorrow... I hope.
By the way, taken out of context the phrase "Woody, you are so awesome!" probably does sound wrong. Yeah, I got some funny looks over that one around here. Perverts!

Hey all, checking in from the State Fair. I found some free WiFi but man is is sloooooooow!
I almost puked this morning. I got here and went to the events center to get my wrist band for the concert. I caught up with an older lady said hi and we were talking about where we were going, etc. She was there picking up wrist bands for her daughter.
I could have walked on ahead, but stayed with her. There wasn't anyone else around us within 100 feet. All of a sudden, a guy comes up behind us: "Hey, you getting your wrist bands for the concert?" I said Yes. He said "Here, I have a couple right here for you." In my mind, I'm thinking "Yeah, ok thanks, but I think I'll get mine from the box office". The other lady holds out her hand and as he put them in her hand, he says "And, there are two VIP passes to get you to the backstage bar-b-que with the band before the concert." AARGH! I looked at him and I said "Now you're gonna tell me you only have those two, right?" He said, "Yeah, sorry, I was supposed to give those out yesterday but forgot."
My heart sunk.
I still may get the meet up. No action from them on Twitter. I saw they were staying in KC last night so I expect they may be here any time.
It's very windy today. Not a lot of fun to be hanging at the fair.
Have a good day. Not sure if I'll be back or not, might depend on if work duty calls.
The suicide victim was my work phone. It was replaced with a very low end Samsung. This particular casualty is my higher end personal phone... the one that replaced my beloved Palm Treo 755P... the Palm Pro 850. PP850 is functioning fine, but will not charge up the battery because the micro-USB port got mangled, unfortunately by me. Its micro-USB port is kind of poorly designed in that it is perfectly oval instead of shaped like the micro-USB connector, so it is kind of hard to tell without looking closely if you are putting the connector in the right way. Apparently I didn't a few times.
Long story short, the repair service people really don't repair much of anything. If anything is broken on the phone, they just want you to replace the whole unit.
