Friday before a 3 day weekend!

Good day all.

My boss is out today, and I know at least a couple of my customers took the day off.  The Etch seems to be in top form though, so I'll have to see if she lets me have a quiet day.  Sometimes she thinks if my boss isn't here that she gets to monopolize my time.

You make sure youtell her to "Go away" Mz.

We are looking at a cloudy day today but it will still be warm. I think we are supposed to have nice weather all weekend. I am patiently waiting for 3pm to arrive as that is when we are dismissed.

I didn't think Friday would ever get here.  I tried to make it around to the fourm yesterday, but it just didn't work out.  But I did get everyone taken care of.

I had a phone call from the school counselor.  Isaac wasn't in trouble, but he started getting "lippy" with one of the teachers at lunchtime.  He wanted to know why he couldn't sit with his friends --  he took a home lunch and they were eating school food.  After much arguement, he told her "This is ridiculous.  We shouldn't have to be segregated just because of our lunches.  I think that might be against the law..."  no

I really have no idea where he comes up with some of this stuff.  I mean, he's only in second grade.  "segregated" really?  confuse

Man, today is going to be a gorgeous day in the Tulsa metro --  82 and sunny.

Hey Mz - meant to tell you that I thought of you last Saturday while I was in the supermarket. I was picking up soda (they were 5 12 packs for $10) and saw that Dr. Pepper was celebrating their 125th anniversary by making the Dr. Pepper with real sugar. I don't know why when I read that I went, "I wonder if Mz drinks Dr. Pepper and if she will try this."

Good day, all. It is a lovely, sunny day. smile.gif I'm just hours away from a happy weekend of being home alone. The weather all weekend is supposed to be about perfect. And it's payday. And Hurricane Earl has weakened to Cat 1 and is making a happy turn out toward sea so he should not be vexing my weekend in the least.

Among my other reasons to be cheerful today:

The Chiefs won last night! Okay, so it was a pre-season game and they almost blew their lead... but they still looked pretty decent out there.

My friend Marissa got the job from the interview I took her to on Tuesday! YAY!! We are having lunch today to celebrate.

No meetings on the calendar for today and we are firmly in network blackout, so no one should be doing anything that would break anything. biggrin.gif

I LOOOOVE Dr. Pepper and have been buying cases of that stuff like crazy.  I think I have 5 cases stockpiled in the closet.

I agree too.  It's like he's being punished for bringing his lunch.

Just got here to check in.

I got home about 12:30 and have been dealing with all non-urgent things that I didn't do yesterday. I'm about caught up now.

It all turned out great yesterday.

I was watching Twitter and the band frontman Tweeted that they were almost to the NE Fair. I messed around a while then decided to go back around where the busses were and see what was going on. As I got there, security was scurrying all around, barriers were coming down, gates were opening, etc. I stayed behind a barrier and waited about two minutes and in pulls the final bus with the band. The bus stopped about 50 feet from where I was, the door opened a the first one out was the frontman (Mark Hall). I lifted my camera to get a pic, he saw me, smiled, and waved just as I got the pic. Then he walked right over to me and said "Hi, I'm Mark Hall". We talked for just a bit. Then the drummer came over too and I got both of their autographs. After they went on, a security guard came over asked that I move on or others would see me there with the camera and we'd soon have a crowd hanging around. So I left.

The concert was awesome. After the concert, they did a meet and greet where I was able to get more autographs and that pic with the bass player. I waited in line quite a while for the meet, but it was worth it.

I thought I might be more "star struck" than I actually was. I think following them on Twitter helps that because reading posts about their daily lives keeps them real.

I'm really tired from 14 hours at the fair, most of it walking around and standing in lines, but the experience was a boost that I needed after the crap I've been dealing with all summer.

I also totally agree.

I guess I'm just a little stunned about his choice of words for the arguement and how it's not fair, but "against the law".

I'm curious on where he got this information...   PBS maybe.  We watch a lot of PBS...
