Holy Fumes Batman--Gas

You have got to be kidding me.  I just came from the gas station.  $2.83 for regular unleaded and $3.03 for super.  I have to work 20 days a month just to pay for fuel.

California really gouges people with gas prices, don't they? It's $2.55-2.59 for regular here.

why is it people have no problem spending  $35,000 and up on a gas guzzling suv , then cry about the price of gas ?  I never understood that .

guilty dave---suv owner and complainer.  now you can really laugh, my wife and I drive identical SUV's--Toyota even down to the same color.  The only difference is that she has the running boards and I don't, I have a hitch and she doesn't. It does have an awesome JBL speaker system in it though and I love the navigation system.

There is this 73 year old man who does part time delivery work in a van where I work. He HAD to give up his retirement cadillac. V-8; this thing had more horse-power than the modern day Mustang.

He had asked me about gas milage on my new vehicle (Mazda 3). I told him I get 32 city, 38 highway easily, 1.8L.

Well, he went with another make, better price, not so sporty, but he came up to me today and told me how happy he was to join the 1.8L club. He is getting the same gas milage, and he can't believe it. He can't believe that $20 in gas lasts him the whole week. He was used to $65. Good for him. This is his retirement money, this is his quality of life.

I remember when gas was $1 a gallon, I was driving my '73 Nova, and I spent $40 a week in gas. I am so glad I bought a new car.

dang- irony of ironies; that Nova could have collectors plates, be in parades, restored correctly, could sell for a mint! I wish I would have hung on to my 77 T-bird!

Nah, someone ruined the Nova before I bought it. They added a sun roof.
