as Thumpers thread was to nice to post on , I thought I'd start this one , One night many years ago in a place that catered to the " oldies " crowd , a conversation about the King came up , I replied that I didn't think he was the king, one of the guys ( a well respected man ) said - let me guess, Little Richard , I just smiled . ya gotta wonder how many records he could have sold in todays atmosphere , to do that well considering the times is nothing short of remarkable, heck I'll bet he never even got played on the air south of Pennsyvania. whop bop a lo bop bop bam boo ! side note - Carl Perkins recorded Blue Suede Shoes before Elvis , but then he broke his leg and couldn't tour for a while . side note #2 - Elvis always had a fear of one man over taking him (so to speak ) drum roll please ...
