Songs that make you want to hit the road

WXPN is doing their annual 885 songs countdown. (It is 88.5 on the FM dial.) This year's theme is "Songs that make you want to hit the road". You can submit your top ten list and they will compile the resulkts and play back all the songs in mid October. stereo.gif

I thought it would be interesting to see what our lists would look like.

Although there are probably a ton of songs that fit this category, I have jotted down some standards but would like to see what you guys have to say. I always look forward to finding songs that I don't know much about or never heard.

Runnin' Down a Dream          Tom Petty
Goin' Up the Country             Canned Heat
Radar Love                            Golden Earring
Midnight Rider                        The Allman Brothers
Just Crusin'                            Will Smith
Alabama Getaway                  Grateful Dead
Are You Gonna Go My Way?   Lenny Kravitz
Beatles                                   Drive My Car
The Cars                                 Let's Go
Steppenwolf                           Born To Be Wild
Steppenwolf                           Magic Carpet Ride
The Who                                 Going Mobile
AC/DC                                     Highway to Hell
Foghat                                    Slow Ride
Bruce Springsteen                  Born To Run
Sammy Hagar                         I Can't Drive 55
Ray Charles                            Hit the Road Jack

Hm, I have to agree with most of your list. The first ones that came to mind, you already have on there. I might add:
She Can Do That - David Bowie (who else?)
Drive - The Cars

I don't know how I could forget a good old funky tune. I heard it on my ride home Friday afternoon.
