How do you get your Geek on?

I'm going to Baltimore this weekend with my brother to enjoy a fun-filled day at the Horrorfind Convention this weekend! Or, I should say I talked my brother into going with ME! Bruce Campbell of the Evil Dead movies will be there along with the guy who played Pinhead in the Hellraiser movies and a slew of others! SO looking forward to this, I've had other things going on the past few years and haven't been able to make it! Lots of Halloween props are signifcantly reduced at these places, and there is a company which manufactures reall cool bat wings... that's on the top of my list of things to get this weekend...

Wings!

I am loving that site Zim. may ahve to get Halloween there this year.

The only things I collect are mardi gras beads and Shot Glasses from every state.

They must say the state and not a city. I have 13 from various states and a few cities. If anyone has any from the Upper midwest ( Illinois, Wisconsion,Indiana,Minnesota,Iowa, etc) that say the state and you want to get rid of them That would be SUPER!!!

makes me feel old to collecft things like that. `

no suprise here- music geek! jazz! old albums! I was at a music store last winter and found John Coltrane's A Love Supreme unopened on vinyl and just about freaked right there in public! I received a record player for Christmas and armfulls of albums and that was a GREAT present.

I wish there were a way to hook up a record player to broadcast at Freeze Frame. In this digital age, it just ain't going to happen. The only way to pull this off would be me to lower the microphone boom to the speaker of the player. Comparably, music broadcast from an AM station played on a transitor radio would sound much better!

I collect liquor glasses, such as wine glasses, martini glasses, champagne glasses, etc. I need to get a hutch to display all of them in! We (meaning me and my husband) also collect books. We have never thrown away a book. We hope to have a study some day that is floor to ceiling book shelves with one of those rolling ladders.

Oh I do books too! I picture one day, retired, finally having a chance to read all of them (most of them again), But yea, college bookstores are such a racket!!

You buy your $20 books for $90!! Sell them back at the end of the semester for $10. They sell next semester for $120 used because they are out of print!

I never sold a book back ever! did not play that racket!! And I was an English major and philosophy minor too- thats A LOT OF BOOKS!!

Being MzFrugal, I only ever bought one book for college. The rest I borrowed, went to the bookstore and just sat there and read what I needed to, or I just got by without it. I had to pay for it all myself, so I was not going to be sucked into the college book scam.

I collect Playmobil - just picked up the black knight and the red dragon set at lunch! My living room floor is literally half taken up with Playmobil castles, dollhouses and people... and I've got four of their pirate ships on display. In fact, I had to crop the Playmobil out of the cat picture!

Someone told me the other day that I'm the most eccentric person they know... I just really don't think I ever grew up.
