Isn't it weird that if you look unhappy or mad that people think you're getting a lot of work done, but if you're smiling or laughing, that you can't be working? What does that say about jobs in America? It is generally not a good idea to be happy while working?

I do love my job, but I don't generally laugh when I'm reading the guys' work packages. They get kinda defensive. Insecurities and all that. Sometimes I have to bite back a "What the H#LL were they thinking?" because otherwise I end up with a lot of people at my desk trying to see whose work I'm proofing.

I love my job too, but due to our field, the happy news we get isn't usually laugh out loud happy, more like thank-the-powers-that-be-this-child-is-going-to-live happy.
