My boss and coworker came in on time today. Normally I have at least a half hour before anyone else comes in the office, which gives me time to slowly sink into the day. Without my warm up time, I have a feeling this is going to be a stressful day.
I had a customer's site get hacked late yesterday afternoon. I was at the boy's football game and suddenly got 189 emails on my phone that a script was trying to send mail (spam). It took a while to get that figured out and cleaned up, but I think it's ok now. After talking to the site owner, I'm pretty sure how they got in and that hole has been closed.
They boy had his 10th b-day on Sunday. I ordered him a Nintendo DSXL last Sunday night thinking a week would be plenty of time to get it here. I got it at Amazon, and paid for regular shipping. For some reason, Amazon decided to send it FedEx. Friday, the tracking showed that it was in Kansas City. That hasn't changed. I bet, FedEx put it in the regular mail (I've had them do that before). Anyway, the boy is bummed his b-day present isn't here yet. Hopefully today.
Man, I know what you're saying, Mz. In the evenings, I need time to wind down, so if Mr. DS and Isaac aren't in bed by 8:30 (their bedtime), I get really antsy -- I want to tell them, "Go to bed already!"
Last night there was a substitute instructor at the kids Self-Defense class. Mr. Jesse was out sick, so Miss Jennie filled in. She is very assertive -- kinda like a drill sargent -- and keeps the kids attention. As the first class finished up and the next class was lining up, one of the little girls tugged on her shirt, looked up at her, and asked, "You're not going to make me cry, are you?"
Hope everyone has a "no stress" day!

Web - I have had that FedEx Post thing. That is what they do - FedEx to mailman. I wonder how much that actually saves though.
I'm kinda ticked at Amazon over this one. When I've had that FedEx-Mail thing in the past, it was when I had selected the free shipping option. This time I paid for the "3-5 day" normal delivery which should have gotten here in time.
The only good thing is that the boy is learning a little about patience. The tracking says "Estimated Delivery: Oct 4th". He ran home with his backpack full of books expecting it to be there . . . only to find his present hadn't arrived yet.

Hopefully today, or he'll be one unhappy camper.
I'd complain to them about it. You paid to have it shipped in a way that you would get it in time. If you weren't worried about it arriving on a certain date, you would've selected the free shipping option. I think it would be reasonable to ask them to refund the shipping on that order (even if free shipping wasn't an option on that item).
Hola, all. I'm finally getting around to checking in. Its been a busy morning with meetings and working on configuring the latest peripheral we are putting into the network. Got that all done, so I'm on cruise control until my next meeting. YAY ME!
Since I was having to concentrate on the config stuff, I've actually been listening to BlipFM. Right now getting my Insane Clown Posse fix.

Web, I can't believe the boy is TEN! I thought he was 8. Time's passing so fast.
I guess living in a big city has it's advantages. Usually when I select Amazon's free shipping it arrives in two or three days max. Probably because we have a Fedex facility in town and we're a major mail hub.
I'd still rather live in a small town.
Back to work tonight I had three straight three day weekends, but this was the last one. It's gonna be hard to get used to five day weeks again.
