It's WINDY! here today. Gusts up to 60 mph. And the fear-mongers weathermen are saying there's lots of harsh storms coming our way, with tornadoes or straight-line winds, hail, thunderstorms, the whole shebang.
If there's anyplace that I don't want to be in a tornado or damaging wind situation, it's my office. This building creaks like crazy when there's a light breeze. And I'm the only person sitting on the west wall.
I'm hoping that the power goes out, so I can take my stuff and work from home. But we have a power station across the street from the office, so I don't know how plausible it would be to not have power here but have it at home.
We were really windy last night. Today not so much, but a whole lot cooler.
One of our guys in the warehouse always says I smell nice (just saying/not hitting on me) and always asks, "What is it today?" It's usualy something from Bath and Body Works. Well, this morning, as he passed through, he stopped at my door with a big grin on his face and said -- "two bleeds"
I'm look at him and he says it again -- "two bleeds", this time with the black power sign. I'm still so he throws his hands up in the air and says "two bros" and walks away...
Sorry, but I'm still for at least 10 more minutes and then I finally get it...
The last time he asked what I was wearing it was Velvet Tuberose -- "two bros"/ "two bleeds"
Smiles Everyone!

Morning all. We have had weather in the low to mid 70s so far this week and it will continue through Thursday. Then reality will set in and the high will be 60*. I thought we are due for some rain, but I don't know if it is today or tomorrow. The rain should come and then go. I want it to be dry for the lawn's last haircut of the season on Saturday. It'll be a maintenance trim in the backyard to get everything even and to clean up some leaves. I am still debating on whether to mow the front lawn. I am not sure I should mow the sod yet. I think it has settled in nicely. My original plan was to let it go until spring. But it could use a trim.

The final sanding is done and I've sprayed the back sides of everything. After lunch, I can spray the other sides and everything else. Then tomorrow I can finish getting ready to install it all on Thursday.
yay. me.
I will mow 2-3 more times at home . . . mainly to pick up leaves. Our neighbor lady had to take out her big maple tree this summer. We'll miss the morning shade it also provided us, but I won't miss it's leaves. It always held on to be the last tree in the neighborhood to finally drop its leaves. I always had all my leaves picked up and then I'd have to start over with her's that blow over on us. That won't be a problem this year.
I plan to mow one more time here at the shop just to even it up before winter. I was going to do that last week, then the battery in the rider was dead. I'll have to put it on the charger then try again.
I've still got a roof project to do before winter. Our kitchen is an add-on out the back of the house that has a very low pitched roof. I replaced it once and it's needing it again. This time, I'm going to cover it with a big sheet of rubber roofing. The materials came yesterday. Hopefully I can get two nice days next week to do that. The rubber roof has a 25 year warranty. I don't expect I should ever have to deal with it again after this.
Then, that just leaves finishing up the shed and that will be all the outside stuff I need to get done before winter.
Mrs Web tells me we will do a lot of painting inside this winter.
Web - if she really wants to paint, she can come to my house. I still need the entire first floor painted. I keep trying to get Mema's mom to come over, but I don't think she is having any of it.

I'm finally getting the bathroom project finished at home. We just had a mirror up but now I'm getting the upper cabinet done, the fancy light, etc. There is also some new door trim and baseboard to match everything else in the house I've done so far.
I'm embarrassed that it has taken me this long to get done, and its become one item of contention in our house. I'm not expecting that taking one off the list will make a difference in the level of contention, but it can't hurt.

I don't think she really wants to paint . . . it's more that she's bored with the colors now and wants it painted.

Nice! I'm sure Mrs. Web will be very pleased when it is finished.
I'm still waiting for Mr. DS to trim my kitchen window the list goes on with us too, but I try not to bombard him with honey-do's

Good day, all! I've been around the office since about 11ish, but have been very busy. Just a few hours later getting in, but one would think with the amount of stuff waiting I was gone for a couple days. Ah well... all that is under control for now.
I feel for you all on the "to do around the house" list. Mine is never ending. Unfortunately, the only person who nags me about what I haven't done is the one I can't escape from... myself! I've got to get that south wall finished... gonna e-mail the kids in a bit.
Otherwise, it is much cooler today here... presently only 61*. I don't have the wind issues many of you are experiencing today, but did see some of the coverage of the damage as of this morning in Indiana and Illinois. Looks bad. I hope you make it through with electricity, Mz.
I might get around to mowing the yard this weekend. Not that it needs it really... just the leaves. We'll see.

Hey Web, congrats on hitting the home stretch of your bathroom project.
MS, I hope u stayed safe. They were claiming we'd have our worst windstorm in over a decade here today. They made sure they reminded us that four people died in 98 from high wind here. As you'd expect, the storm hasn't lived up to the hype. Average wind around 15 mph, the occasional gust of 30 - 40. No big deal.
People around us got hit pretty good, but it seems like the Bloomington area didn't get hit as bad. We had a few people without power, but everyone's back on today. All the tornadoes were way north of us. Though there's a few people who are cleaning their neighbor's trees out of their yards.
