free-for-all yay or nay?

I heard that some people are actually complaining about the "anything goes" playlist on the site.   I'd like to know why some dislike it.

Personally, as a big fan of music, I think it's sheer beauty to hear hair metal, country, r&b and just a normal rock or pop song in the same 20 minute block.   Some songs go over better than others (like how the Laurie Anderson song didn't exactly get the warmest responce), but I love the fact that FFR is a channel that prides itself on being diverse musically.

No offense, but if you really hate the free-for-all concept, turn on the radio, there'll be some nice homogenus (sp?) Clear Channel station that will play the same 5 songs every hour.   I LOVE hearing Willie Nelson followed by Culture Club followed by Motley Crue.   I think variety kicks butt and there is nothing that should be changed.

What about everybody else?

Yay on my end. I am all for requesting anything different everyday and all day.

That is why I love six pack weekends, I get to request six songs in a row that I know have not been worn out!

" anything goes "  doesn't  happen often, with Star hosting MBT , NWW, and  JD  hosting his shows on Sunday  and someone (?) doing   sorta fun stuff on Saturday morning , where's the time ?  some people will whine about anything ,anytime .  what's that saying about a door ?

I think it's always "anything goes" outside of the jazz and new wave shows on Sunday and Jeremy's morning show.   Even though MBT is a popular theme, you don't hear just metal ballads on that day, you hear other stuff as well.  Right now as we speak, the playlist is anything goes, if you request whatever two songs you wanna per 30 minutes, you're contributing to the free-for-all/anything goes playlist.   And you know what, I think it's best this way, we all get to hear our favorite music.  And if someone's upset they're not hearing their fave artist, all they have to do is go onto the request list and pick their favorite song.

good idea, fun Sats would be cool, as long as you get 6 requests still.    I agree, if someone hates the FFR format, instead of complaining to Riggs, whose under enough stress as is, consider that there are thousands of other stations out there that may be more to your liking.

Yay for me also.

If I didn't want variety I could tune in anywhere and hear the same tunes repeated every hour all day.

Definatley a yay for me, I grew up with all kinds of music. MBT is just a fun day for me because it brings back a lot of memories, but I also request other stuff that day too!

I don't know why someone would complain about the format--the diversity of music is what keeps me here.

me too.  People with one-track-mind music tastes should just move along instead of causing Riggs unneeded stress by whining.
