I just got home from K-Mart with my cheap dresser. It was on sale for $39.99, it's called a lingerie chest, but I'll be using it for papers and stuff (I keep my lingerie in a different dresser )
Anyway, I don't expect much for $39.99. I know it's pressboard crap. I have two night stands and a dresser that are the same design from the same company.
But I noticed today that the box brags "Solid Wood Handles!"
Doesn't that just seem silly? The entire thing is pressboard and they're proudly proclaiming that the five 2" knobs are solid wood?
Do you think anyone is browsing the store and see's this thing, is on the fence about buying it until they realize the handles are real wood?
Seems like they're REEEEEAAAAAAAALLY having a hard time to find stuff to brag about on the box to me.
Ok, I'm off to assemble.
(If I were Webguy I woulda just made one of these. Then EVERYTHING would be real wood.)
I'd bet they are counting on the fundamental laziness of humanity... figuring they will stop reading at "Real wood" and think they are getting a deal on the price.
