Because I'm an adult . . . AND this way I'll be somewhat familiar with it before Christmas so I can take better Christmas pictures.

Yeah, that's it . . . so I'll be ready for all the Christmas action.

It kind of loses that excitement when you know what you're getting and have to order things yourself.

If you ever want to carry your SLR around with you comfortably for long periods of time like the zoo or something, I highly recommend the "Black Rapid" camera strap. It is 100 times better than the conventional neck strap.

Are you getting me that for Christmas? I have to say that the neck strap on the camera is not all that fun. I tried to use it while I was roaming around Washington DC. I don't like the weight around my neck.
