The Haiku Thread

We started doing some of these in the counting thread, I believe. But they are kind of fun- writing haikus!

Haiku is one of the most important modes of Japanese poetry, a late 19th century revision by Masaoka Shiki of the old hokku, the opening verse of a linked verse form, haikai no renga. A traditional hokku consists of a pattern of approximately 5, 7, and 5 morae, phonetic units which only loosely correspond to the syllables of Western languages.

Sorry, that last post was about people in my office, not anyone here. There's a guy here griping that Bush didn't say anything comforting yesterday to the people of New Orleans. He's also griping about 9/11 and Bush's lack of action. 5 years later and he's still griping about the Florida election scandal. Give me a break.

And how does he expect the people of New Orleans and Mississippi to hear the president's words?

I wouldn't mind so much, people are entitled to their opinion, but in the office you should act with a little bit of decorum. This guy was angrily spouting off. I mean, his voice was shaking with anger! I had to bite my tongue to keep from answering back. You can hear everything in these cubes and it just isn't good to do that. His cube is right on the other side of me. I can hear everything he says or does. From the "son of b*tch" as he throws down his papers in anger, to him just slamming down the phone on his wife and muttering "craba$$". It gets to be really annoying. He really has an anger management problem. Coming from the Queen of Road Rage, that's bad.

Annoying people

Talking politics at work

Where can I buy gags?
