Well you made me think that when I was young I loved both of them- but I loved Prince too!


 


Anyway maybe they are on the same level as PCD and I just am not young enough to like that kind of music anymore.


 


But I still love the stuff like that from the 80s!

Yeah, Sheila E & Prince and Sheena rocked in the 80's.

Although prince took things to far one in awhile. Even he's sorry about that now. There's a lot of songs he wrote that he will no longer perform because he feels they were too much.

Carey Underwood- Wasted.


This is perhaps the stupidest and worst song I have ever heard. Sort of a wanna-be hillbilly get up and feel good song about not being no damn drunk anymore. Everyone get up and line-dance!

Marky, I totally agree with you on Boys of Summer, it's very haunting, but I love it! It's got that perfect memory-of-summer feel to it. Maybe it's the seagull sounds.

We had it all along but I never put it on the playlist because to the best of my knowledge it was never a single. I know it never charted on the Hot 100.

For the most part when we set up the playlist we just went with Hot 100 hits, because if we put entire albums on we'd have about 75,000 songs. But I'm always glad to add album cuts for listeners. I've been turned on to some music I've wound up really liking that way.

hey I dig boys of summer too- its the only guitar solo I ever figured out by ear. I am a pretty bad guitarist, but that one was easy enough, slow enough to figure out and do....plus its quite catchy!

Cool.  I didn't know you played, JD.  I did a bit of that back in the day myself and I was, overall, a pretty crappy guitarist so I can appreciate what you mean!


I've been appreciating the Eagles a bit more lately.  I watched the Farewell I special from NBC the other night (it's been sitting on my DVR since August...took me long enough) and I have to say the craftsmanship of their songwriting was really amazing (as a group & the solo projects).  There just isn't anything like that that's new now (that I know of).
