No we were spared, even the rain. But I am very depressed about the whole situation. God is there though, bringing people together and making them value their lives more than their possessions. Making them look to him for answers and strength. He has allowed this to happen, but He has plans for them to prosper!

I love that town. THe thought of all those old buildings, rich history, beautiful homes, the people, their businesses, their courtyards being wiped out is just absolutely heartbreaking. WOndering if the people I met down there are ok...

Yeah I was thinking about you and your trip there too. Guess it was forunate that you got to go there when you did. Keep those pictures, they will probably be the only time it will look that way. I doubt they will ever be able to recreate the same. It is like that here in Charleston. Most of them homes downtown have been there for 100s of years. We could have something similar happen here if another storm comes through. Hugo was bad, but the peninsula area was spared the storm surge because of where the eye passed.
