Ooooo. Me too. Merry Christmas! Thanks to everyone for putting up with me.
I'm currently checking in on my phone. How about that?
Ooo. Time to take the caramel chocolate brownies out of the oven. It is a new recipe. I hope I did it correctly and everything comes out okay. I'm sure that even if they are not pretty, they will get eaten.

Fuzzy: Memmer how you said making fudge was so easy? I managed to screw it up! I think I had too much marshmallow in mine. The recipe said 3 cups of mini marshmallows, I sorta "topped" off each cup. Big mistake.
I essentially wound up with a pan of eeewy goooey cheewy fudge. I cut a square out and it tasted great but had the consistency of that marshmallow fluff you buy in a jar. When I came back to the pan this morning it had replaced the square completely! You couldn't even tell a peice had been taken!
Needless to say, the garbage can just received nearly four pounds of chocolate goodness.
Well... talking to my mom. Seems my brother bought himself a new F-350... which he just wrecked. Fortunately nobody was really hurt. His baby-momma hit her head on the windshield.
Merry Christmas, Momma...

This is my brother's brand new F-350. Yes... he was drinking. And no... the responding police officers did not grant him "professional courtesy". He got to spend several hours in jail.

HOLY CRAP MEMA! Thank God everyone was ok safe for some bumps and bruises!
The insurance company called and said the truck is a total loss. Much as the picture suggests, the frame is bent. Not sure, but the rear axle might be broken too. Given where the accident occurred, one of the responding departments was his own Sheriff's Department... so they now know.

The story I got was that he was going too fast around that curve you see in the background and then he slid on a slick spot on the road, lost control, and went into one of those metal light poles and also took out some of the traffic signs along the roadside. Momma said it only slightly moved the light pole, but other photos I have seen looks like he took the pole out, along with the other signs. It is sad, but he drives absolutely everything like it is a police cruiser in a high speed chase. This time it just came around to bite him in the backside.
His son, who was with him at the time, told me that he refused the breathalyzer so he claims that there is no "evidence" that he was drunk. At any rate, in Missouri if you refuse the breathalyzer or the field sobriety checks you automatically lose your license for 30 days minimum. If convicted, you lose your license for a year minimum. Either way, it is not good for a patrol officer.

I don't know how that works. He seems to feel that he may be looking at a quit or get fired situation. It was suggested to me that he might have had some other disciplinary issues lately, so it may well be true. Hard to tell though... he is kind of a drama queen.
My guess is that no, this will not significantly alter his behavior. Last night when I got to Mom's, he was laying on the floor drinking a beer grumbling about only having his girlfriend's vehicle now. Typical. My niece said she tried to talk to him about quitting drinking and he says he won't. Again, typical. Like father, like son. Oh well.
Speaking of which... the "partridge in a pear tree" chorus to my family's Christmas song: The police came by my mom's house earlier looking for my nephew. Again.
I believe that it is probably time for me to start staying on the KS side of the state line again.

He got very lucky that he didn't hit another vehicle or seriously injure someone in his own vehicle. Honestly, I don't feel sorry for him. He knows better, but elects to do these things anyway.
