Happy Day After Boxing Day

Good day all.

I figure if you're at work this week, you fall into one of three crowds:

Accounting: OMG IT'S YEAR END!

Everyone else at work: Pretend to work for 4 days.

Or, your company was smart enough to know that no work gets done, so they shut down the week between Christmas and New Years.

I would guess for most people this is the least productive week of the year.

So, what flash games are good to play at work while still looking like you're working?

Hehe, that's probably a pretty good call, Mz.

I'll be home with the boy this week. Huskers play in the bowl game Thursday night. It's on the West coast so it doesn't start here until 9:00 pm.

We've got the after Christmas let down here. It's bare under the tree. The kid has no anticipation of fun stuff to receive. Now we look forward to New Year's, and then it's just that long haul of winter.

I'm in the fortunate category of working for a place that gave me the week off.

In a little while here I'm going to run out to an uncles house to look through my Dad's old work toolbox. It's one of those big floor standing units thats about five feet tall. Dad was a machinist and the only way we could get this thing back from his work was to have my uncle pick it up with his pickup truck.

We waited FIVE YEARS to do it! Now we're going to just see if each of us want an item or two then my uncle is going to give it to a young kid that's just starting out in the trades (he spends a lot of time in machine shops as part of his job).

After that, it should just be a relaxing day around the house, working on my newest project. Scanning in, editing and organizing all my family photo's. As a result I'll probably be doing a lot of Facebook reminiscing the next couple of months. :)

I hope everyone has a great day!

What a great idea!

Yeah, we thought it would be a nice way to let the stuff kind of live on. Most of it is stuff beyond what a regular person would use. But for someone starting out in the trade it could be a really nice boost.

I'm really grateful that my uncle was able to fit it on his pickup. I don't know how Dad ever got it out to work. They must have delivered it right from the store or something.

Good day, all. I too am in the fortunate category of 'on vacation' for the week. There is virtually no point in going to the office this week. We are in a network blackout and have been since the day before Christmas Eve. All I would be doing is waiting for someone to tell me something is broken, which may or may not happen. If it does, they can just call me.

So far this has been one non-productive day. I've slept for most of it. I'll get up and about in a little bit. Right now I'm just not in a hurry. I'm finally enjoying the peace and quiet now that the Christmas stuff is done.

The P's & Q's won't last long... waiting on a call from my mom to tell me the next chapter in the familial drama. Again, there is a good reason why I live 35 miles away and in another state. It is close enough to be there if someone really does need me, but far enough away that I generally only have to hear about the mayhem.

Hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

Sometimes it's nice to have a lazy do nothing day. I envy you on that front.

Not on the family drama though. We've got enough of that.

I don't wish the drama on anyone. It would just be so nice to have one boring, "normal" family Christmas. The kind where everybody just gets along, no one ends up in the ER or in jail. I don't think it is too much to ask.
