So... as yesterday progressed, my back was hurting worse as the hours ticked by. After talking it over with a few friends and Kev, we all decided I should probably go to the ER to at least see if they would give me some muscle relaxers. I checked in at 8:24PM. Got back into the exam room fairly quickly since there was only one person in front of me. Waited there quite a while as someone came in right after me who was more urgent but the very nice nurse named Tootsie (not kidding) came in and asked me again how my injury happened, took my blood pressure again, had me sign a conscent form then left me to wait for someone else.
Another very nice lady came in and took me to x-ray where they took about 6 shots of my back and hips, then sent me back to the exam room. A while later a very nice ER Doctor came in... he looked to be all of about 12 yrs old... but he was very concerned. He had looked over my x-rays and informed me that I do indeed have a hairline fracture on my coccyx, and a hairline fracture in my left hip (that one doesn't hurt), but he was very concerned about the 2 vertebrae fractures that I didn't mention hurting. WHA-HA-AAAAAAAT?!? Had me go pee in a cup so they could check to see if I had any sign of internal bleeding, then showed me my x-rays. He showed me the little shaddows on my hip bone and my coccyx, which he agreed was probably very painful, then he showed me the vertebrae and the areas of concern there. It really looked like L3 and L4 were both fractured on the tops! He said he couldn't believe I was walking around.
We talked about all the stuff I had been doing since my incident and that I really had not sat down and rested until I got to the hospital. He was flat stunned, then told me that he was having an orthopedic surgeon review the x-rays but I should probably go lay down and expect that I might be going to emergency surgery to stabilize my spine. About 45 minutes later, he came into the exam room and told me that the othopedic surgeon said that they are not broken , what he was seeing was actually some form of air pockets. Surgeon told the ER doc I likely would have hit him if he touched my back and those really were broken like that. As you can imagine I was quite relieved.
Basically, they ended up sending me home with some pain pills and muscle relaxers to help with the sprain and fracture of my coccyx and the sore muscles. Said my next few days will likely not feel very good. Happy New Year to me!
Anyhoo... I'm home. I'll check back in later when I'm up and around.
Hope everyone has a very Happy New Year! I'm going to celebrate carefully.

Wow Mema, what a wide ride. I'm glad your back isn't broken. Holy cow.
The boy and I took Mrs Web some CrapDonalds for lunch. We ate with her (she gets off at 3:00), and then went to the shop to get the snow blower.
We prolly have about 2" snow, but it came with wind so there's none in some spots and 6" in others. I blew a little at the shop, grandma, my own, and two neighbors sidewalks. It's -1 degrees. I got pretty cold so I came back in to defrost.
Whew, I got worried there Mema! I'm so glad that the first doctor was wrong. Just take it easy for a little while. You don't have to sit on one of those air donuts, do you?
Man, that's cold Web! It's wild to think that you're so cold when it's 60 degrees here. I'd rather you get warmer than us get colder though.
I've been pretty productive today. We got rid of all the clutter that tends to accumulate after the holidays and did some cleaning. I also washed the car and took the dry cleaning in. Now I think it's video game time.
