I was suprised that we are expecting New Orleans refugees this soon all the way up here in Milwaukee and Wisconsin areas!

same here D- I am on the other side and East a bit. I had thought for a moment that maybe once they were settled in that I would head over there and just sit and talk with the people, but that's the idealist in me coming through. I doubt that they'd let anyone get in or get out for that matter.

Oklahoma has already recieved 2000 people from that area and aer expecting another 3000. We have them in churches and shelters and everything.  Its kind of hard to put them in the convention center or Expo Square since the State fair starts 09/29

I sure hope that local temp agencies can absorb a lot of these people who want to work and try to save money to return home one day. Maybe seasonal work for the holidays? Just give them something to do, make them feel that they are doing the best they can to adapt to their situation. And heck, if anyone decides to stay put, hopefully they can become gainfully employed in their new towns and begin to rebuild their lives there and be ok.
