Did you know that if you are using Internet Explorer to browse the web, a web site owner could see what is on your clipboard? The last thing you copied to cut or paste can be visible to the site without you knowing it.
Check this out: Highlight and copy this line of text to your clipboard. Now go here: Clipboard Test Site
If you are using IE, you likely are seeing that line of text. If you are using Firefox, your clipboard is safe from prying eyes. One more reason to use Firefox!
If you want to stay with IE, you can close this "feature". Here's how: 1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools>>Internet Options. 2. Select the Security tab. 3. Under Web content zones, select Internet. 4. Under Security level, click the Custom Level button. 5. Under Scripting, you'll see a setting labeled "Allow paste operations via script." For that setting, select Disable and click OK 6. Finally, click OK on the next window.
And that is your Internet Security lesson for today.
