The NFL confirmed that Favre submitted retirement papers for a second time. Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com first had the story Monday morning from unnamed sources and the Star Tribune of the Twin Cities confirmed the report.
Favre could still change his mind as he did after submitting paperwork to retire after his one season with the New York Jets, Marvez writes.
But Marvez notes the 41-year-old former Green Bay Packers quarterback has said this would be his final season after he rejoined the Minnesota Vikings during the preseason.
The Star Tribune notes that the Vikings don't have Favre under contract for next season and coach Leslie Frazier said that there he couldn't picture a scenario in which he would call Favre and ask him to come back
IN A RELATED STORY...
Records show indicate that Favre ordered a disappearing-ink pen from Harry's House of Magic last week.
He has to be done. This was a disasterous year. I don't think his teammates will even want him back. He should have been done after last year's big season (which was still a disappointment in the end).
Get the flock out of here! Go to MS and stay there.

That's just it, I don't think it's his call anymore. Unless some desperate, last place team out there wants him just to put a few extra butts in the seats. And at this point I don't know if he can even do that.
