when I get home from work, thinking I am out of beer or wine, and I am tooo tired to go to the beer depot, and lo, there is a bottle of red in the rack, or a couple of ice cold ones behind the water jug in the fridge. And they are soooo cold they give my hand an ice-cream headache.

when I leave the charcoal alone, and let it do its work by itself, and the embers are a perfect glowing red, so much so that even after the food is cooked, and its getting dark outside, its like having a mini camp-fire right there to have drinks around.

When I'm laying on the couch, reading my book, with the windows open, and the temperature's perfect, and the sun is shining through the window, and good music on just loud enough for people outside to hear it when they pass my window

When my cat comes up and lays on my lap/at my feet/on my monitor just to be close to me, then falls asleep so deep that he starts having kitty dreams.

When I am just hanging outside reading, someone comes down with a couple of beers to hang, somebody else sits down to talk and hang and pretty soon its a nice party made out of thin air...

When the milk is in the coldest spot in the refridgerator, so I get a good really cold glass of milk.

when I turn on the tv to PBS without really knowing whats on, and then I get spanked with an evening's worth of great entertainment. Be it an American Masters on Ella Fitzgerald, followed up by a kick-ass Nova, an hour on Deepak Chopra or Joseph Campbell and then, if the programming Gods have me in mind, an Austin City Limits with Wilco or David Byrne...
