Next Weeks New Music CD?

Help me decide.

Journey - They have a new studio CD coming out that's supposed to be pretty good, but they dumped Steve Perry and his bad hip and are recording and touring with a new guy that sounds JUST LIKE Perry.

Or...

Liz Phair - New CD is supposed to get away from the radio friendly pop of the last disc and return to the rawer sound from previous CD's. Only problem with this disc is that in the past she has gotten pretty vulgur on some songs, and we may have some offensive cuts on our hands.

What think you? Lemme know!

I knew JD would vote Liz Phair

But will he be alone?

We shall see.

I voted Liz.   Journey was a great band in the 70's and 80's, but Steve Perry is gone so it's pointless.

Another album coming out next week that would fit the feel of FFR would be Andy Bell's (from Erasure) solo debut album.  That's an 80's artist who is still recording great songs.    New Franz Ferdinand album is something I'm looking forward too but they are probably not enough peoples cup of tea here to devote a weekend to.

Gonna take a miracle for Liz to catch up now.

Which is probably for the best, because I wouldn't mind having the new Journey in my collection, but I probably wouldn't normall run out and buy the Liz disc.

Actually, I WOULD, if she were continuing in the vein of her last CD, which I really liked, but since she's abandoning the commercial sound and going back to the early sound I probably won't even buy it if it doesn't win the vote.

Journey!!  How about the new Franz Ferdinand CD.  Also, could you put more of the Killers singles on the request list.  Thanks!

Thanks for the input. We'll try to get some of both artists you mentioned onto the playlist. Soon we'll be putting up a thread specifically for requesting songs again (used to have it, but it got a bit overwhelming for awhile).

Steve Augeri does sound like Steve Perry.  He is a great singer, and a wonderful guy.  BIG fan of his previous band, Tall Stories.  And the album he did with Tyketto was also excellent.

I would like to request Hanson for a future new CD to feature.  Their new album (live from their last tour) comes out on October 11th.  I was a little disappointed to see that you don't have them on your request list.  I would love to see some selections available, especially from their excellent pop/rock "This Time Around" album.

Thanks for taking requests!

while taking new music requests, any way we can get a weekend for "Confessions On A Dance Floor" by Madonna when that comes out on November 15th?   It's going to be a return to the 80's pop sound that made her big in the first place, and no spiritual messages on this album either, it's supposed to be an all-out fun party record.

OH YEA, Don't worry, Madonna's a given. After all, at it's heart this IS still an 80's station.
