We didn't do a whole lot this weekend, but we did get some good news.
I'm not sure how much I've talked about my husband's health problems. He has nightmares that affect him for days. He has these episodes, I'm not sure whether to call them blackouts or seizures, where he'll just drop unconscious. He's had EEGs and xrays and MRIs, and his doctor finally diagnosed the episodes as psychosemantic, under the umbrella of bipolar disorder. At any rate, on Friday we got the paperwork from the VA that confirms that they agree that he has these problems and that they are service related. (He was in the Persian Gulf war.)
It's not really a solution, but just having that verification is a huge relief. I was worried when they first called it bipolar, because I think that's one of those over-diagnosed disorders, and I was afraid that they wouldn't take it seriously. Now this shows that they are taking it seriously and it's officially on the record. It opens the door to more treatment and more options.
It's not something I talk about a whole lot, but this is good news, and I wanted to share.
The highlight of my weekend was taking Dolly and Isaac to the Route 66 Blowout. Lots of great cars. It was really hot, so we stopped by the fountain at the courthouse and the kid played in the water. Maranda placed again in the art show with three out of five pieces -- first place with a watercolor of poppies; first place for a b&w train photo; and third place with a digitaly manipulated moonflower photo.
Mz, that is very good news! I imagine that having a diagnosis is like having a weight off him and you; to know that y'all can move forward with a treatment plan. Best of luck to y'all.

Good day, all. Yep... itsa Monday. All of the India peeps are here now. We are still working through access issues for them, so it is kind of a slow start to the week.
Weather wise it is another hot one here too. Yesteday reached 100* according to the local weather station. Looks like it will be back up there again today. No rain in sight until maybe Thursday.
I spent my weekend mostly working. We moved a few things out of Donald's house on Saturday. Sunday I spent the day staining and waterproofing some wooden benches. It was loads of fun.
Anyhoo... hope everybody has a great day.
Good deal for you and your husband, Mz. It is a rough diagnosis, but having that in hand you can move forward.
