I almost wonder if doing away with the top 40 list would help with the over playing of songs. I'm thinking two reasons. I wonder how many people look at the top 40 list and see a song up at the top and think "Yeah, I want to hear that one". Also, I know I've done this myself in the past . . . request a favorite song a lot just to see if I can make it move up the list.
