After work yesterday, I came home to Brian all grumpy because his phone wasn't working and he had calls he needed to make. Apparently his phone no longer likes his SIM card. I'm not sure if the problem is the phone or the card, but the prepaid phones come with cards and he could use a new phone anyway.
But I had writing group from 6-9, and I'm the head of it so I couldn't skip out. So the plan was to go over to Target afterwards since they carry T-Mobile phones and are open after 9.
Target only had the higher end phones in stock, the ones with touch screens or full keyboards, which isn't what he likes. I wasn't going to pay more for something he doesn't want, although now I wish I had.
So I looked up where else I could get T-Mobile phones, Wal-Mart was included, so I headed over to the other side of town. They don't carry T-Mobile prepaid phones, just the ones with a plan.
So at 11, I finally got home, had some breadsticks for supper, and went to bed, just to wake up early this morning to take Brian to a doctor's appointment. Then after trying to cram 16 or so hours of work into a 8 or 9 hour workday, I need to find him a new phone, go grocery shopping, finish putting the kitchen back together, make supper, and return my now-overdue library books.
Good day, all. Its another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Not a lot going on right now, but about to get cranking on the last of the switch training and moving onto database training for the India peeps. It also happens to be the birthday of one of the peeps, so we brought in one of those Costco cakes... chocolate cake with chocolate frosting filled with chocolate mousse.
Hope everybody has a great day!

Can't we just get to Friday already? My attitude at work sucks; I need to get over being angry with a co-worker, but I'm having a really hard time with it. I just really don't like this person. I've tried, but things have gone beyond a passive agressive viper tongue and petty behavior to attempted sabotage a few weeks ago.
Hey, Mz... I like your hair cut.

Aw man, good luck with that. I had that at my old job, where it ended up feeling like the in-office staff was on my side, and the out-of-office staff was on her side. She was higher up than I was, and I was totally being bullied. It's one of the main reasons I left.
DS, I can sympathise with having to co-exist with difficult or malicious co-workers. Sometimes the only solution is a shotgun and a shovel. I hope the situation improves for you.
Mz...first of all, nice doo. Sounds like you need to pace yourself...just clear the to-do list one at a time.
Fuzzy...perk up little coffee bean...your Phillies won again.
To Mema...my drive by friend...I hope you get a little "you" time.
To Web...How close was that twister to you yesterday?
I go back to work tonight for a long stretch...the next 6 weeks are long and we cant use any benefit time due to being short officers.
On a happier note, my Brewers won. The NFL may be closer to a new collective bargaining agreement.
So far, digging the I-Pad. I think the thing that really sets this device apart is all the APPS available...its like getting a computer with a million dollars worth of software.

Thanks!
I've always wondered if the apps would make it too limiting. I guess I never really thought of it as software (which really is what apps are, duh to me). That's a good way to put it.
You know, it's crazy...
In my lifetime, I have seen black and white TVs that weighed as much as a Prius and now we have something like an I Pad that is smaller than a trade paperback!
In about 20 minutes, I gotta go pick up the boy and then go home and give the dog a bath. When we got back here to the shop after lunch, she found a nice, fresh pile of poo from the neighbor's dog and decided it would be fun to roll in it. *blech*
Later, we will have a quick supper and be off to a baseball game.
