It the Friday before a long weekend, meaning this day is going to last forever. But if I'm lucky, a lot of people will have taken the day off, leaving it relatively quiet.
So, whatcha doing for the 4th? We're going up to Chicago for the annual 4th of July party. Three bands, lots of beer, lots of food, lots of coffee (it's in a coffee shop), and a ton of fun. And I've been promised naked indians.
The party starts tonight. We're heading to Summerfest to see I'm Not A Pilot, Los Lobos and some other bands. Then, tomorrow, family get together at the bro in-law's. Monday is another party at the sis in-law's and parade(s). Tuesday, well it's a special day... my 50th!
If I don't chime in, enjoy the weekend. Scoot away from all responsibilities asap.

Kids can get vouchers to go to private schools. I guess that's cool, but it doesn't really affect me.
A year or two ago, Indiana made it so you have to show your ID to buy alcohol regardless of age. It pissed a lot of people off, so now you only have to show ID if you look under 40. I think I liked it better the other way.
Gun owners can now take their guns to the library. Okay, whatever. I didn't know that was that big of an issue.
High school athletes who have suffered a head injury during a game must be benched until examined and released by a physician. Cool.
Pedestrians no longer have the right of way at crosswalks. This one bothers me. Now, they are putting in lights that pedestrians can activate at crosswalks, like a stoplight, that makes drivers stop. I'm still stopping for pedestrians at crosswalks, better safe than sorry.
There's a couple immigration ones in there too, like if you can't prove you're legal, you don't get the in-state tuition discount at state universities.
I just thought a couple of these were interesting.

Finally Friday. I've been doing some clean up of the job file this morning. I'm just awaiting the 3pm dismissal bell. Not much going on for me this weekend, some eating some drinking, some chores.

Good morning! YAY! YAY! YAY! It's Friday! And that makes tomorrow -- c'mon everyone, say it with me -- SLEEP-IN DAY!
I'm having old too. My exciting plans for the weekend are to stay home in the A/C. It's just too stinkin' hot for me to enjoy anything that involves being outdoors.

it looks like i get to stay until 5 (Yay me!), but soon i won't have to hear heavy sighs, and sandals flip-flopping up and down the halls. i'm really aggitated. don't know if i can handle a long weekend holed up inside with my family. i should pick up brandy on the way home to keep me company...

DS, our youth that were on the mission trip have vacated your state. They are in Mema's town today at "Worlds Of Fun" then they come on home tomorrow. It sounds like the heat was pretty intense on them working outside on various projects.
I really feel for them, Web. This has really be unusual for this time of year. Normally, we're not this hot. I do hope though that they had a pleasant stay otherwise. Did they get to float the Illinois River while they were in Tahlequah?

I saw a post where they "went rafting" but there were not specifics as to where. That was probably it though. Sounded like they got some sunburns that day.
I know one of the main projects was an elderly lady to help her work on her house. It sounded like the lady ended up in the hospital the first day they got there. They got the work done for her and she's still in the hospital.
