Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive and kicking, no pun intended. Laura is doing well, and has started going to support groups twice a week, she loves them, and is already starting to make some friends there. Regarding Laura's neck, she went for her first post-op appointment last week, her neck is doing well, but it has been determined that the facet joint in her back is worn out, so they will be trying steroid injections. She can have up to two of those. Hope they work. She will also be starting to have physical therapy for her back as well. Sounds like I've missed a lot here, anyone wanna catch me up? Love the forum pic by the way!
Glad to hear from you Mel!! I'm happy to hear that Laura's making friends, that always helps get through life easier, especially when the chips are down.
Mel, those injections are great. I have had several--when they are shot into the spine it does not hurt very much, but it feels like a golf ball is in your spine for a couple days, just making pressure--but does not hurt. The ones that hurt for me where the injections right into the trapezius muscle. I swear that needle was a foot long and i kept looking at my chest to see if it was going to come right thru. However, the benefit is phenomenal.
