The "concert" is done so I can mark that off the calendar. It didn't go as well as I had hoped. Most of us in the group thought it was pretty rough. We're not used to playing outside which made everything sound different. Our monitors were a little distorted which made it sound bad to us, but a couple people in the crowd who we know would give honest feedback said it sounded good.
I was a little disappointed in the turn out, but then my own wife couldn't be bothered to come, so I guess I shouldn't expect much. There were probably about 50 people there who acted like they were there to listen, and probably 40 of those were from our own church.
Anyway, it's over, it was still fun, and we learned a few things along the way.
Now, to finish up my friend's bathroom cabinet so I can take it to him next week . . .
I'm frustrated at the moment. I'm doing wedding invitations for my friend, and she called in a panic Tuesday night asking if she could get them by Friday, since she's visiting her mom for the weekend. I told her I couldn't promise anything, but I would try. Her mom agreed to pay for our hotel room for the wedding if I could get them done in time.
We got the design done Wednesday, and I was all set to print yesterday, but when I printed the color didn't come out right. I should've left it. Now that I've fixed the color, our press is down. I'm really hoping the repair guy can come out and fix it, and has the part, with time for me to print this by the end of the day.
Good luck with your printing, Mz. Nothing like being under pressure on a Friday.
One nice thing about this bathroom cabinet, I don't have to finish it. He wants to finish it himself. That also means I don't have to final sand it, I can just machine sand it and call my part done.
I forgot to mention it's only 60 degrees here now.
I did get the grass mowed yesterday. With the little, daily rains, I couldn't mow when I should have and it was too tall to mulch so I had to bag it. That made it suck extra.
This cabinet is nothing special other than it's made of Mahogany. My friend's house is a brick ranch from the 50's. Everything in the house is a white-washed Mahogany. He couldn't find a Mahogany bathroom cabinet anywhere. I happened to have a sheet of Mahogany plywood that I bought 15 years ago for a job that didn't go through so it finally has a place to live.
My friend said he'd come out and spend a weekend and we could build the cabinet together. That was fine with me, but I asked him if he really wanted to build the cabinet, or if he just want's the cabinet built. Since it's just the one cabinet, there is not much advantage of two of us working on it together. One of us would be waiting/watching the other work. I told him I'd rather just build it myself and then spend a day or two visiting with him rather than spending our time together watching each other push wood through a machine. He thought that would be better too and that he'd just come out and get it when it was done. I didn't get it done very quickly and now, since we're going to Lincoln for our concert weekend next Friday so I'll just take it with me . . . and we won't get to spend much time together. So that part didn't work out so well, but he'll at least get his cabinet like he wants.
I'll mow the front yard probably tomorrow in the early evening. The sun will be off most of it and since it will be cooler it won't be much of a shock. Then the rain can fall on it and refresh it on Saturday night and all day Sinday. Hmm. Maybe I should do the enitre lawn just because. The back was mainly not growing and crunchy. It is looking better so maybe I'll help it out by evening it off.

I was sanding with my Makita RO sander and it started sounding funny. A few seconds later, the rubber pad that the paper sticks too totally came apart and crumbled into several pieces. That sander is probably about 15 years old and just keeps running, so I found a replacement pad online and got that on its way. The rubber in that pad finally got old enough it couldn't hold together any more.
I just completed a new personal best in the category of "Snooze button hits". I think I hit it about a dozen times before finally taking my alarm seriously and getting up. Now I'm ticked that I slept an extra hour and fifteen minutes.
Since you all probably had lunch already I won't bother asking if you want to join me for some. I'm gonna head into the kitchen and make myself a strawberry smoothie.
Not too long ago, I had my alarm clock set at 6am. I don't get up until 7:20. I really was hitting the snooze button that many times on a regular basis. I think I was trying to get up early and it never worked.

Classic. It's almost a promise that something will go wrong. I'm notorious for the last minute change then, use the unchanged file. (duh!)
