Florida, Dave, Star and Wilma

How much more can these people take?  I mentioned that my Uncle is an adjuster and down in New Orleans right now--the pictures he has sent me--Let's just say that my problems are so inadequate in comparison to the total destruction and devestation of these communities.  Now Wilma is headed directly for Florida and they say is the strongest ever.

My thoughts and prayers for all those in Florida, especially Dave and Star.  (We had a 4.0 earthquake on Sunday.  I will take those anyday over the hurricanes.)

The earthquakes are unnerving:  I was sitting in bed reading and working on my laptop-the bed shook for a few moments, I saw the blinds swinging. When we had a 6.0 (which is a pretty good shaker) I watched the house sway from top to bottom--the house literally felt like it jumped straight in the air.  I then went and checked the gas and water heater--.  At least on the earthquakes, for me anyway, they just happen.  I don't have days of anticipation and they are over in seconds and don't batter for hours, even though the destruction can be just as bad.

I will pray for a miracle that something happens to lessen the storm.

Praying here too! How much more can they take! That storm, like the rest seems brutal!

My thoughts are with our coastal friends. With the way this one is going to hit in Florida, it begs the question...Would the last one out of Florida please turn out the lights?

4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes San Diego Coast
Quake An Aftershock Of Sunday's Earthquake

POSTED: 8:04 am PDT October 19, 2005
UPDATED: 8:33 am PDT October 19, 2005

A light earthquake struck Wednesday in the ocean 19 miles southeast of San Clemente Island, the Caltech Seismological Laboratory reported.

The quake struck at 1:51 a.m. with a preliminary magnitude of 4.1, said Pasadena-based Caltech seismologist Nick Scheckel, adding it was an aftershock of the magnitude 4.9 temblor recorded in the same area at 2:11 p.m. Sunday.

Officials in public safety agencies in more than a half-dozen coastal cities in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties said they had received no reports of injuries or damages in the aftermath of the quake, and National Weather Service meteorologists said it generated no unusual wave activity.

Caltech placed the epicenter at 48 miles west of Mission Beach and 49 miles south-southeast of Avalon, where a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department employee said she felt only very slight shaking.

The quake apparently was not linked to the light shakers that struck near Cabazon, north of Palm Springs, Monday night and early Tuesday, Caltech reported.

I talked to Star earlier and she is keeping an eye out for it. from the projected path it could mass destruct southern Florida.

Ruby:  The one we had was outside the City of Cabazon--but we felt it.
