oh! long gone now and replaced by an idiot that looks like planet of the apes!

I think god was trying to create a marriage of the two most annoying people in wisconsin. He missed by like 2 weeks. Had these two annoying folks met, they'd be a power-couple from hell. Rumor is is that the new guy is actually the old office B after a sex change, they are that similar in their annoying tendencies!

Aw man, I could use this thread today too! Some day it would be nice to do my own job...

We have two databases that we are merging into one. Everyone was supposed to take their sections and identify which fields in the old database match up to the new one. I had to sit with both of these people and walk them through it. I had to keep telling them that I don't care how they got that in the field named this, but we have to concentrate on how to get it in the right field in the end anyway! And I work on the website and with families and volunteers, I'm not an IT person!

And then of course there's the lady who decided to take last week off at the last minute, so she's flooded with work this week and expects me to do part of her job for her. I'm calling people to answer reimbursement questions, but I don't do reimbursements! And then there's another lady who took Friday and Monday off so she could have her 2nd 4 day weekend, so I have to field her calls too. And then the president hands me a press release and asks me to send it out by the end of the day. You know, I have to make up the list of media to send it to, it would be nice to have a little leeway other than a few hours that are already filled with a conference call about the freakin' database that no one understands except me!

I didn't get lunch, I didn't get any breaks, I didn't even have enough time to finish the pop I got for lunch to go with the food I didn't eat!

Ah, I feel better now. Thank you.

We need to sticky this!

I just did a degree check with a guy that is 26 hours short of 125. He is enrolled for 13 hours and does not comprehend why he will nt graduate. He has met with me before and acted like this the last time. THE CALCULATOR DOES NOT LIE!

Now I had an instructor email me a number grade and I told them I need to know what the letter grade was. It was also for a science course, so I also asked if this was lecture or lab or both. His response: B+

I get that "not reading" thing all the time.

I get emails all the time that "this doesn't work". So I reply with a numbered list of questions of what happens when you do 1: 2: 3: etc. Its amazing if I get more than one of the questions answered. It usually takes one email for each question before we get done.

Then there's my "lady in Missouri". Mz and Molly know about her, I was sharing an IM with Mz that I was having with this other lady about her website. Head banging stuff.

I can feel you there Ruby! I used to be a publicist promoting books. Reporters would call me to request review copies. On my voicemail, I asked for their name, company, phone number and address. It was very rare that I got all my information that I needed. And if you're name is not John Smith, spell it for me!!! You would think that people know when they have unusual or difficult to spell names. And one time, I got a request from a professor for a book called Socrates for Kids. He pronounced it "Soo-craytes".

Oh yeah, Mz showed me that. That lady was just an idiot! I felt so sorry for you, Web!

I just return from a "benefits" meeting. So much fun. Some people just don't get it no matter how much you simplify it.

ARGH

The annoying person in my office has a daughter that is getting married. She is so loud and all I have heard about since we returned is wedding planning! Her dress cost... we need this... they want to help... I know this is a happy time, but it is overwhelming- she is on the phone all day! She even had to work on Saturday because she was soooo far behind!

Ok go on!

How about the co-worker who tries to weasle into everyone's birthday just to get a piece of the birthday cake?  Today I brought in a b-day cake for my best bud Doug.  His birthday was actually Sunday, but I didn't get around to get his cake yesterday, so I brought it today.  This chick I can't stand was on the elevator with me straining hard to see the name on the cake so she would know who to hit up for some later.  She saw "Doug" and assumed that it was the Doug I work with who sits next to me.  When I came in, he was upstairs so he didn't see the cake.  She saw him and wished him a happy birthday... much to his puzzlement.  Pambo witnessed the whole event and told me about it at lunch.  After much laughter, I told her that is what that wench gets for sticking her nose in my business.

Isn't it tempting to start putting bogus names on the cakes?!

OMG!  When I got past the annoyance of her sticking her nose in my business, I just got so tickled.  She must have been so embarrassed when she got the wrong Doug.  There's no way in the world she would actually ask me about it because she knows I would just tell her it's none of her concern. I told both Dougs about it. They thought it was funny. The correct Doug actually offered to bring me over a piece of cake to give her, but I figure I will not reward her behavior.

I can understand that. I know Mz always had a big problem of the other receptionists doing that at the spa, and then she had to sort it out when the clients got there.
