The boy's first football practice of the season is at 6:30. He's got a good team, many of the same kids he's been playing baseball with for the last few years. It will be fun for them.
I dislike the shoes my boss is wearing today. They make clunky flippy floppy sounds when she walks (worse than regular flip flops). The noise drives me nuts.

I can't tonight.
I also have plans to be out of here close to 5 tonight. Darts is over for the summer but tonight is our "clam bake". By time I get home I'll already be late.

But I'll bet your boss doesn't make it worswe by actually schlepping along. We have a girl that wears a pair of shoes like that here and she does not pick up her feet when she walks. You can hear here coming. And it is even more annoying when she walks past me at least 20 times a day.

With this particular pair of shoes combined with our floor, dragging her feet would be preferred. The second floor here is an add on, so it's really just carpet on top of plywood. The soles of the shoes are pretty much just a big slab of plastic with a wedge heel, so they thump the floor when she walks.
Interesting FaceBook thread under our regional TV station's page.
The station asked: "ABC is getting complaints about choosing Chaz Bono for "Dancing With The Stars." What do YOU think? Is it cool to have a transgendered person on the show?"
As you may expect, a news station asking such a question in an open forum has sparked quite a debate.
Personally, I had to Google Chaz to find out who he/she is. All I could find that Chaz is "famous" for is being Cher's transgendered child.
I don't watch the show anyway, but to me, having a "star" on the show who happens to be transgendered is not a big deal. On the other hand, I don't see the point in having him/her on the show is their only "star" qualifications is being transgendered.
Would they still have asked Chaz to be on the show if she/he wasn't transgendered? I dunno, but I doubt it . . . which is the only issue I have with it.

Good point. But look at other "celebrities" they have had on the show, and the type of people we have as "celebrities." When the radio station that I listen to in the morning said that Chaz was going to be on the show, I didn't even know who that was until they said "Bono." I figured it was Cher's kid, and that's the whole reason Chaz will be on the show. I didn't know Chaz was transgendered until you just now mentioned it. Haven't they had children of real celebrities on the show before? And hey, look at people like Paris Hilton, who's a star mostly because of who her parents are.
I agree, and I dunno. I haven't follow the show closely enough to know what "level of star" they have used in the past.
As far as Paris specifically though, yes she is famous because of her parents, but she IS famous, and anyone who doesn't live under a rock knows who she is. I'm sure there have been others on the show though that I would have no idea why they are a "star".
