Oh, that reminds me . . . my dad called me about 7:30 last night to tell me that grandma fell yesterday. He tried to call her around 2:00 and didn't get an answer. He kept trying until 4:00 when he gave up and came to town to check on her. When he got there, he found grandma on the floor in her hallway. He tried to get her up, but couldn't lift her without hurting her back, so he call the ambulance. They came and got her, took her to the hospital. She checked out ok so they released her. She was just VERY tired from fighting a long time trying to get back up.
She couldn't remember how long she'd been on the floor. She had eaten breakfast, but not lunch so it was sometime in the morning which means she was likely there 6-8 hours. Now, the worst part is that she DOES have a lifeline system, and she was wearing it (necklace). In all those hours laying there on the floor, she didn't remember that she had the lifeline and all she had to do was push the button for help.
It is time for her to go to some kind of assisted living.
On a positive note, it's the big kite fly weekend! WOOT! I'll be flying all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Can you guess what the photos of the day will be for the next week? Can ya? Hmm?
It is looking to be a beautiful weekend. Forecasts are in the mid 70's. Hopefully we'll just have some wind.
Husker football starts Saturday too! Again I say WOOT!
DISH network gives us free "Big 10 Network". The Huskers are now in the Big 10. That means we'll get to see more games that don't get "mainstream" coverage. This leads to one more WOOT! for today.
I know I came in here and said hi. But there is no trace of me in here today.
Anyway, yay Friday! I woke up withan awful headache today. I'm hoping that'll resolve itself soon. It is better than when I originally woke up. My day will be spent trying to prove to a client that the service is taxable and I'm not issuing them a credit and then some other audit work.

Yeah Web, it does sound like your grandma needs to be somewhere where someone can check in on her on a regular basis. It's a tough decision, but I think it's the right one.

Okay, now I'm pissed. Brian has been saving up for this paintball gun for a while. It's nearly $300 for the whole kit. It's a high quality gun with accessories to make it look like and shoot like a sniper rifle. I ordered it for him from Paintball Online. I checked them out first, and they had a ton of good reviews. They charged my card for it right away, but it took them 4 business days to ship from Washington state, so we got it a week after that. When we got it last Thursday, parts were missing, and some of them weren't correct. So I emailed that night, yet those parts still haven't been sent out. Now today, they've charged my card again for it. They WILL take care of this today.
And of course, the guy calls at the only time I am away from my phone for a minute. On my voicemail, he said that the missing parts were backordered and he would credit me for them. He also said he'd be sending a call tag for the wrong part.
Of course, when I called him back, he wasn't available. So when he calls me back, or when I track him down, I'm going to tell him to send me the correct part right away without waiting to get the wrong part back. I'm done waiting.

He called me back. He is crediting me for the erroneous charge and for the missing and incorrect parts. I'm sending the incorrect part back to them on their dime. I also followed up with an email with the exact dollar amount that I expect to be credited for.
And I'm ordering the missing parts from Amazon. 2 of them actually come from Amazon themselves. The 3rd part is optional, and I'm going to see if Brian still wants it.
