The boy got his sax last night. Sheesh, renting an instrument is not cheap. I expected about $150/year. I was right on the $150, but it's per semester.
We're planning another kite fly for October 8th & 9th. It is the international "One Sky, One World" event and we decided that we would participate this time.
Morning all. It only took me 1.5 hrs to get to work today. In addition, it seems there is flooding everywhere. It has several of our big highways shutdown.

Yeouch Web! How long is he going to be trying the sax out? It might actually be more cost effective to buy one.
Well, we'll just have to see how it goes and get a feel for how he takes to it. Last night he was having a ball making noises. He figured out how to make a loud honking noise so he'd do that and then just laugh and laugh at himself.
This music store that does the rentals has an offer where if you decide to buy the instrument, they will apply the rental money you've paid toward the purchase price of that same instrument. That is a great offer, but my hangup is that the purchase price the rent applies against is full "retail". I haven't looked yet to see what "street price" is on the exact same instrument, but I expect that taking the $300 rent that we paid the first year will probably get it down to about "street price" anyway.
If it works out to where the buy out after renting for a year is still close to street price, I'll be tempted to turn it back in and just buy another new one at street price and let him start over with one that he hasn't beaten around for that first year.

That sounds like a cool kite fly! Yay, more pictures!
It is a neat concept. The idea is to fly kites from 2:00-3:00pm local time on the 2nd Sunday of October. The idea is that if every time zone participates, there will be 24 hours of kite flying around the world.
