Hey gang, have you guys noticed any difference in the variety?

over the weekend I switched the request rules to only allow a song to be requested every TWELVE HOURS! Combined with the artist rule of 2 hours, this SHOULD mean you hear the same songs much less.

I think this week has been good. When I am paying attention to the tunes anyway. I have heard some songs that I don't believe I have heard before. I like variety.

I have noticed. I thought everyone had decided to dig a little deeper in the playlist. I think that's a fair thing to do. It forces more variety and I think that's a good thing. But that's just me.

I've also continued to run a script that inserts one rare song every hour. It selects it at random from our request-only list. That last song from Steppenwolf was one of them. We're doing what we can to try and keep things fresh.

There's alwasy gonna be SOME repetition. There's certain songs I even like to hear two or three times in a week, but hopefully we'll get a lot of variety mixed in too.

I noticed that I could not request Cher's Walking in Memphis every eight hours.  I used to do that late at night when no one else was on the board or making requests.  So let's just state the obvious, you are all sick of Walking in Memphis and Through the Fire.

I've noticed the greater variety and my vote is Yes.
Since I can't be on much to make requests it is great to hear some different tunes.

     good move all around !  , you still get to hear your favorite artist alot ,


  insertin an oldie is good too , scares the kids when sha na na plays  lol


   the only down side i see is CP may start to have withdrawel pains .

Yeah Dave, it would involve a bit of work, plus I think I'd really p*ss off a lot of listeners.

But we can always work around it, by requesting the over-requested songs at 5 AM so they can't request them during the day

Yes Molly, that's a young me, I was in my Frank Sinatra phase I thought a short break from the penguin was in order.
