The forum and your "real" life

Well I just celebrated one year on the forum (although I was MIA for awhile). Anyway, I find myself thinking of you all more and more in strange situations. I think about Riggs whenever I see a penguin or hear a song that is not on the request list! I think of Ultimo when I hear about Britian, etc...

I find myself saying I have a friend in Nebraska that said, or my friend in Indiana told me that...

Anyway anyone else feeling that this is spilling over into you real life (in a good way!)?

RE: The forum and your "real" life

Definately.

Originally when I passed something along I heard in the forum I'd explain that I have this web site and it has a community forum and blah blah blah.

Now I just say "my friend told me"

Or better yet, when something is happening in an area, I can say "My friend from London was telling me" or "I have a pal in Indiana and they were saying".

It makes me sound like world traveler! WOO HOO! (Basically, I guess it makes me sound like CP )

Same here . . . I used to say: "I read on an internet forum that . . . "

Now it's the same with me: "A friend said .... "

For the most part, you guys are my daytime friends. I think I've got the best of both worlds right now. Since I work alone, if I want to be alone, I can just stay off the forum. If I want some company, I've got you all right here!

RE: The forum and your "real" life

Yeah, I started saying, "My friend in..." too! I feel like I know everyone here. I feel like hopping on the forum is the same as visiting a friend's house.

Over the past year, I went from a cubicle setting where I had people to talk to all day, to a small office with an office of my own. I used to feel like I would go all day without human interaction. Now it's like I've got someone to talk to during the day.

I think about all of you guys constantly! I am hardly on at home because my wife and daughter keep me very busy, but I am always thinking about you and you come up in conversations all the time. It's a great feeling when I say "my friend in..." I think our forum is alot different from other forums that I've visited in the feeling we all get along so well and our personalities are very similar but yet so different.

Ok, I just found this on the internet. It is us in 2003, a very bad picture of me a couple pounds heavier then. I am the King, my wife is at the very front, then my father-in-law, my wife's aunt, and the one pulling away is my mother-in-law. We were in a hurry to be judged by the different casino's. It's hard to see, but they light up too.

I said I wasn't going to post any pics of me but that's how much I like you guys! Now it's Fuzzy and Dylans turn.

I do the same things you guys do. And when I am talking about sports, it usually becomes the 'boys in Wisconsin.....'.

It is really kind of neat when you stop and think about it. We are all different but are still the same.

You guys rock!

Ruby, that just means he's not on to the fact you're having an affair with THREE guys from Wisconsin! (And a married man in Nebraska, and South Dakota, and California, and I could go on and on but I imagine you get my point )

I usually refer to the guys as - my forum buds , and the girls as one of theforum kids,

like - one of the kids lives in alaska , she posted a neat pic of the northern lights...  ,

( my subtle yet effective way of saying - theres 2 types of forums ,that this, ain't that )

I also think of members during the day - see a delivery truck, drive pass a golf course,

an outta state  license plate , or it could be just a word - food , taxes , electrical ,boots

(lol hi Trish )or it could the mother of all - someone at work playing a lame azz radio .

as for the 'real life ' let me answer it this way -  compare it (in a way ) to my online

poker , you see 9 other computer images at a computer table with a computer dealer.

Guess what ? the MONEY is REAL !

Ditto for me! I consider all of you as friends. I refer to the station once in a while and mention some of the members to my friends. Some can relate and some can't. I figure you can't have too many friends. Especially when you need cash.
I enjoy hearing what everyones doing around the country. It makes the day more fun knowing there is more going on besides the 12 mile drive to and from work. My wife thinks I'm obsessed with FFR. I tell her it's fun relating to people all over the country. It's fun and I hope to meet everyone someday. If I'm ever in your town I'll let you know. The first drink is on me.......but then you're buying the rest.....

I had the strangest dream last night, I went to Wis. and stayed at Jeremy's place, which was this huge old office building he had the whole floor to himself. My parents were there, (which was even stranger). They wanted to go to an antique store so Riggs sent them to the biggest store located on Harrs Street (?) I asked to see the station and he showed me a card table with some 8 track players and a microphone. Later he said he had to go to work and left me there to run the station. I swear this was true!

If I was gonna make my way into someones dreams I was kinda hopin' it would be one of the ladies.

At any rate, the description of the station sounds about right

JD has posted photo's of himself, but Somechick never has and neither have I, so were we just floating avatars?

Was Somechick a baby chick? Was I a giant Penguin?

Nah, more likely Somechick probably looked like Marilyn Monroe and I probably looked like Don Knots
