I heard an obscure Patty Smyth song playing and thought "must be the random play track for the hour", then I checked and saw it was requested. THEN I went to the now playing page and saw it was Lady Strange!
GOOD JOB!
Another Patty Smyth fan! WOO HOO
You just moved waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up my list of favorite forum members!!!! (these other members JUST don't understand people like you n' me Lady Strange )
Just like my cell phone company: If you are new, we'll love the pooh out of you. Once you've been here a while, we only want to hear from you when you are paying your bill.
I am still so shocked that you have those songs on there! Along with Brian Setzer's "The Knife Feels Like Justice", the "Never Enough" album was my absolute favorite album of the 1986-87 time period. Patty should've paid me royalties for all the copies I forced on (I mean, recommended) to the customers at the record store where I was working at the time.
I totally love the Hooters guys when they are behind the scenes. And Nick Gilder is amazing, and Steinberg/Kelly are such a great songwriting team. That along with Patty's voice - how can you go wrong? "Heartache Heard Round the World" was like my theme song. "What's that sound, well it knocked me down, I wanna be a rock & roll girl" - Oh yeah!

Yes, sometimes I pick em', but for variety I have the station set to add a song an hour that's completely random and rarely played.
Lady Strange,
All I can say is WOW! I thought I was the only person on the planet that recognized Patty Smyths immense talent! And you're SO right about the Hooters, I liked them as a solo act and loved them working with Patty.
I thought it was so cool that she included a song about her kid ruby on every album, in fact, there's that one where she actually has Ruby's gradeschool class singing in the background (I forget the title of it). Plus she had the hidden track for Ruby on another disc.
Scandal's WARRIOR and Patty Smyths two solo albums are just thoroughly listenable from start to finish!!!
Did you see her on the "Never Enough" tour? Lou Gramm opened, touring for his "Ready or Not" album. What a great double bill! I saw the first or 2nd night of the tour & they were both awesome. Patty included Led Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" in her set.

Didn't catch any of the Scandal reunion shows this year? We'll have to work on that!

Marky, Yes, sometimes I pick em', but for variety I have the station set to add a song an hour that's completely random and rarely played.
I thought there was a human touch on those choices sometimes... Variety is one thing this station doesn't lack.
I totally agree with the comments about Patty Smyth. She's incredible. I had such a teenage crush on her. John McEnroe's so lucky...
The Hooters were a great band. I didn't know they backed up Patty Smyth. I knew they backed up Cyndi Lauper on She's So Unusual. I think the stuff she did with them was her best work...
