Hey D . . . must have not been my day. I don't know why, but in rehearsal I got really nervous, started missing notes, which made me even more nervous, more missed notes. I did better during the service, but not as good as some times.
As a group we did better than normal with the flow. We hardly ever play the songs as written. We usually do a repeat twice rather than three times, skip the instrumental part, etc. One of us usually forgets what was planned but today we all stayed on the same page that way.
Thats normal Web...I get nervous too and it isnt about the crowd,,,its worryin about messin' up....if you ever figure out a way past that...and believe me...I practice....let me know
That's what frustrates me. I can stand here in my living room and play these songs until I can do it with my eyes closed, but on Sunday morn. the nerves hit and it all goes to . . . well, I start messing up.
Many times after the service I'll apoligize to the rest for goofing up a few times and the repsonse is usually "I didn't even notice". Today, our leader did admit that he noticed I was struggling a little this morning.
Mrs. Web usually tells me that she doesn't even notice when I mess up and that's after hearing it 20 times while I practice, so that makes me feel better.
I'll never get to perfection, and don't expect to . . . but today I would have been happy to have done "ok".
