Best experience at a concert

I have several:

I felt my son kick for the first time at a Ratt concert.

I met Davey Jones at the Monkees concert.

I have partied with many an 80s band- Britney Fox, Warrant, Tesla

I met Grace Slick in the bathtoom at a Starship concert- it was in their hotel.

I met Pat DInezio of The Smithereens he was a really nice guy.

The Fixx were friendly enough to talk to.

Met Ed Hersch of Black Crowes and he was nice enough.

Probably the best song I ever saw live was "Man on The Moon" by REM. It was just otherworldly, and the whole crowd was  so into it.

The most fun I had was probably the Bus Boys and Stray Cats in 1982. The whole place was rockin from start to finish. The Bus Boys lit the fuse and the Stray Cats blew it up.

The best seats were 2nd row for Mellencamp in 1987. My wife and I are briefly in the Check It Out video. Mellencamp split his pants in the first set. He looked at the band and said I just ripped my pants. He backed off stage the band jammed until he came back.
Good stuff. I was working for Karma, a local record store, and our manager was the biggest Mellencamp fan I've ever met. We also sold concert tickets through ticketmaster.
We were pulling tickets as they printed, which we could have been fired for, and took the best ones we could get. He got front row tickets for all three shows. Those were the days.

Last New Years Eve My wife and I went to a Henry Lee Summer concert and watched it from the VIP area on the side of the stage. We met Henry. He's a pretty cool guy.

Through someone I know, I got to go back stage and meet Alice Cooper at a concert in 2000.  I'd say that takes the cake.  You know who you are.  Thanks.

Someone else I know got me into a small club pre-tour show David Bowie did in Poughkeepsie, NY a couple years ago, which was also very cool.  I didn't get to meet him but I was only about 15 feet away from him during the show, which was awesome.  I've been a lifelong fan so that was very cool.

I got to meet the guys from Quiet Riot at show in NJ a couple years ago.  They were really nice guys.  Kevin DuBrow is something like 7 feet tall!  I'm about 6 foot and he towered over me.  They usually do meet & greets after shows.

Everyone know my Cher story.  Despite my fumbling--she still smiled at me .

Awesome!  He was really good.  I'm a huge Bowie fan, so I can definitely appreciate.

Man, are we getting a Bowie following here or what? Mz and I are also Bowie fans. Though, I can't say I'm too big of a fan, I won't pay the $60 to get into his website. But I'll still buy his CDs!

The one thing I will say is that my friend got the tickets because she was a member of BowieNet.  The $60 will get you invited to members-only shows like that.  I won't pay the $60 either, but I'm glad she did!
