Does being falsely positive help the Monday blues?
Mrs Web is gone for three days on this work project. She is at the furthest bank branch away (2.5 hr drive) which is too far to drive every day, so she is overnighting there.
Why, tell me why some books on Amazon are MORE expensive for the Kindle version than the paperback? I don't understand that. The Kindle version is just electronic bits. How can that cost more than a physical, printed book?
Most of the snow missed us. We were in the 6-12" window, but the storm kind of split. Not far to the West of us got 17". Not far to the East of us got 10". We got about 3".
...eh, that might've helped the tiniest little bit.
I don't understand that either Web. I think this e-book thing has as much greed in it as the music downloads do. Way to encourage people to illegally download copies instead!
Man, I kicked butt on Fitocracy this weekend. Grouping Saturday and Sunday together, I did 25 clap push ups (man, those are hard), 15 surf get ups (where you start laying face down on the floor and jump up into a crouching position), 100 wood choppers, 15 twist jumps, an hour of dancing to Dance Central, and an hour and a half of killing zombies in Rise of Nightmares on the Kinect (in Fitocracy, I count it as shadow boxing).
Today, I'm sore, but it feels pretty awesome. I still danced this morning, but I'll do more of the strength training tomorrow.
I've also been wearing high heels about once a week lately. They're a bit higher than I normally go. I'm wearing them today, and I'm finally feeling pretty confident walking in them. I'm attributing it to all the dancing.
AP doesn't close until the end of the day so I'm currently working on multiple states persoanl property tax returns. I asked Web to do them but he gave me all kinds of excuses. I think the main one was that he didn't want to do it. I also have to go into the program and finish my performance review. I drafted it Friday, printed out a copy so I could review it and make changes over the weekend but I didn't touch it. I remembered it about 11:30 last night while I was trying to fall asleep. Oh well, I have to have it finished by today so I should go do that.

Bah, Monday. The only good thing about Monday is that it only lasts 24 hours.
I shouldn't complain though, I have tonight off. I took it as a vacation day back when the Pack was 14-1 and I was sure I'd be in Green Bay this weekend for the Super Bowl.
Speaking of which, congrats MZ. Your state did the big game very nicely!
Did anyone watch the Jimmy Fallon show live from Indy last night? The opening song, a rewrite of Adele's Rolling In The Deep was awesome.
I was trying to watch for Ray along the sidelines, but I didn't see him.
I just got a call from my business credit card company. It seems my card has been hijacked again. It was used at a Lincoln Walmart for $350 then used again at a Nebraska City (about 45 miles from Lincoln) Walmart an hour later, but they blocked that charge. In both cases, the numbers were "keyed in". The credit card company suggested I file a police report since it was actually here in my own state.
I called the Lincoln Walmart. The guy I talked to said that he couldn't do anything, he could only work with the police. I told him I wondered if it was an inside deal of some kind, because I wondered how someone goes into Walmart to buy something and keys in the credit card number. He said it is actually quite common that a card will not swipe due to a damaged magnetic strip, broken reader, etc, so they key in the numbers instead.
I'm not liable for this of course, but it still ticks me off so I went ahead and called the Lincoln police. The lady said it would be good to go ahead and file a report over the phone and just in case something happened, they would also have my case to look at video and possibly match up with another case, etc.
It also makes me mad that I ONLY use this card for my five main business vendors. I have another card that I use at the various other places. I did that thinking it would reduce the chances of my main business card getting stolen so I wouldn't have to go through the process of updating the card info, etc. The fraud guy who called me said it could very well have been a random guess at numbers that happened to work for them.
The officer called me back. He went to Walmart and they said that they would put the video together for him later. He said that they generally have really good video and there is a good chance that they will be able to get a license plate number.
Yeah, I'm covered, but if we can put a wrinkle in the crook's day, it will be worth it to pursue it a bit.
He said the guy obviously knew what he was doing. He seemed to be very aware of where the cameras were as he kept his face down and away from them. He said they did get enough of him to identify him if he were to be caught. He said that the guy got in a red mini van, but even it was parked at the far end of the lot which was too far away to get a license plate as he left.
He said the guy was trying to swipe a card a few times and when it didn't work, he handed it to the checker and then she keyed it in. It was probably a fake card with only the numbers being the correct data.
I'll probably never hear any more from it, but it was worth a try.
