I think this is about the worst wind-blown snow storm we've had here in 10 years. Wind gusts are up to 65mph and over 100 area schools are closed.
It doesn't look like Mrs. Web is going to have to go to work. Only a couple are able to get there so they will probably close for the day. I could get her there in the 4wd but we don't see the point. Her boss said to hold tight and wait and see what happens later today.
The boy just got up and we are now all snuggled in watching "Dora".
These are not very good as it's still dark with the clouds and blowing snow, but here's a few pics:
This is looking out our front door across the "street".
I had to scoop a path to the back door so the dog can, or would go out to do her business.
This is our neighbor's house next door.
This is my ham radio antenna. The wind has twisted one about 45 degrees. The big one and the one at the very top are supposed to be pointing in the same direction.
It's 65 here and we have some storms coming our way. 65 in late November!!! I wouldn't be surprised if we have some more tornado watches today. But I would take this weather and be at work as opposed to what Web's got! Snuggling's good, but you'll have to deal with the snow eventually...
I knew this was coming, but I thought "ah, it will only be a couple inches".
The snow blower and scoop shovels are all out at the shop about four miles from here. There's not much point in clearing snow yet anyway. The path out the back door is already almost filled back in.
I feel for you Web. We got the 65 mile an hour wind that blew all day yesterday and then proceeded to cause about 12 fires throught the Tulsa metropolitan area including one about A mile from where I work. I watched the Stop light blow and then send sparks to the grassy knoll near it and start a fire. knocked out power to about 30000 people including the Garden Ridge where the 87 hour marathon was still going! It just blistering cold today and wind still blowing.
I haven't heard the official total yet. Its hard to tell when you have 5' drifts in one place and grass showing in another. It has quit snowing but its still blowing around. I'll see if the local news gives a total here after the game.
We haven't had full blown snow here yet but it keeps trying, it's only a matter of time untill it comes, I don't mind the snow though, especially if it means I can't get to work, then it's fantastic.
