We are off to Kearney to close bank accounts. No etching allowed today. No fights and no name calling are expected. Just close the accounts, give us the checks, and we will be on our way. If we can get this done, and if that expense check does finally arrive, I think we are finally done with them.
We need some basic supplies as well, so I'm sure there will be a WalMart visit and probably a walk through the mall. We don't plan to spend too much time there though. I expect we will eat lunch there and then be on our way back home.
Oh yeah . . . I forgot to tell you guys another thing they pulled. Our home checking account was on an "employee" plan which meant free checking. Within two days of her termination, and without notice or asking which plan we might like to switch to, they changed our account type to the one with the highest monthly fee and immediately took a $10.00 fee out of the account.
So yeah, they "lost" her expense reimbursement worksheet, but they were right on top of getting our personal checking account swtiched to a fee-based account and pulling out that fee.
Good day, all. The rest of this week looks to be long and boring for me. Not much going on at the moment. All major projects for the week thus far have been completed. Nothing pending through the end of the week. Not much in the way of meetings. Little Man is out for the rest of the week because, as he says, "Uncle Tom is gonna die!". That is not near as traumatic as it sounds... he is just going turkey hunting. Pambo has been out all week too with the TN. That leaves pretty much just me, Lee, and Aimee... and not a lot going on.
On the up side, I did schedule my annual end of May vacation week. Looking forward to that and have already started the planning for what all I wish to get done with my time off. The main project will be to get the door between my kitchen and garage replaced with something better and more functional... and with a window in it so that hopefully people will no longer smack me with the door while I'm trying to cook and they are entering from the garage. Might not be up to code, but it sure will be better for me!
Web... it is sad that the person at your wife's former place of employment is such a petty little jerk. Good for you both that this chapter of life is all but behind you. Hopefully there will be good things going forward. I do have to say that it is not too surprising that the bank is quick to get theirs but slow to give what they owe. That is generally how they all operate. I tend to wonder if the jerk had anything to do with the "lost" paperwork?
Anyhoo... hope everybody has a great day.

I have been telling all of my customers that I'm going on vacation. Yesterday, I was feeling pretty good about getting everything all caught up. Now the PITAs are coming out of the woodwork. There's one customer that I told last week that I was going on vacation, that if she gave me her material this morning, I would get a proof back to her by the end of the day when I come back next Wednesday. Well, she drops off her stuff this morning and says, "I was hoping to have it before our early morning meeting next Wednesday." Which means I'd have to get it done today. It's people like her that make me need this vacation.
Morning all. Anyone else feel lousy this morning? It was a horrible night too. Don't know what my issue was. Think I had a little bit of a fever. I kept seeing the same type of work and couldn't get away from it, even when I was up three different times. I wanted to stay home this morning. I feel a little better now. I laid back down this morning after I showered and was mostly dressed. I just had to. Think I dozed better in that half hour than I did all night. Plus my knee is giving me trouble. Can't tell you how many times I moved and then ended up yelling because of the pain in my knee. It isn't too bad until it decides to crack. Has anyone invented anything for easily draining clogged ears?

Dang Fuzzy... sounds like you need a recovery day or two. Sounds like a spring cold getting you.
I did something wrong in my sleep a couple weeks ago and ended up either pinching a nerve in my neck or having a disk slip slightly out of place. Since then either my shoulder muscles hurt or my lower back hurts. Thinking it might be time for a trip to a chiropractor for me.

I hope to sleep well tonight. I'll see how I feel in the morning, if it was like this morning then I'm staying home. To hell with month end. It can wait until Friday if need be.

Going to try the easy route for myself first... visiting with the BFF after work on Friday. If I whimper enough, he might give me a shoulder and neck massage. That would probably help a lot. He is usually very good about that sort of thing... took massage therapy classes somewhere along the line. Maybe it will work for you too by proxy.

So when both you and the boss are frustrated with upper management, is it a good or bad thing when he asks if he can ask why I am still here?
Also, he didn't seemed too concerned with my "you pay me for 40 hours and that is what I am going to work" statement. I'm guessing that is due to the fact that it is not busy season.

We are back. One more thing to add to the mix . . .
We got to the Kearney branch and told the nice gal there that we needed to close the remaining two checking accounts, and the two cds (they both matured today). She said "but, you still have three checking accounts, not two. One of them does have a $0 balance." It seems the local etches paid out the balance, but they did not actually close the woodshop account on the day of the big fight when we closed the first few. What that means is that in three more days, that account would have incurred a $1.00 monthly service charge which would have made it overdraft to include a $25 overdraft fee.
So, the question is did they do that on purpose or just screw up in not actually closing it? At any rate, I would have made enough noise that they would have refunded the $26.00 and correctly closed the account.
The accounts are all closed now and we just got back from depositing the money into our new bank.
The only thing left there is Mrs Web's 401K, but that will not be dealing with the local hooligans.
