Sucky Friday

This is the third night out of four that I've gotten a call around 3:30 AM that here was a problem with my Grandma. Tonight she started bleeding internally and they're not sure why, so I'm back here again. Today though there are about 15 other people all from the same family (normally its been just my family here). From what i can gather sometime overnight a young man fell though a railing and plunged 35 feet. He's in surgery now and apparantly has significant brain and spinal damage. Obviously everyone is crying and upset, i cant help the tears welling up in my own eyes just watching them all. I think i might have to go wait in the cafeteria because i feel like I'm intruding here, even tough its a public room. Hospitals SUCK. I give a lot of credit to anyone who can work in them.

cry JR, so sorry your grandma is in the hospital and having problems.  I hope they will find and fix whatever is going on soon.  I feel for the family of the other guy too  ... so heartbreaking cry

Hope the day turns around on a positive note for you today.  *hug*

Morning all. After spending yesterday between my bed and the sofa, I have returned to the office. They say the fog, mist, light drizzle is going to disappear and it is going to be 87*. Somehow with the rain we had I think it will be humid too. Blah. BUt at least it is Friday. I haven't slept well all week, so I'm hoping to night is the night my body settles down and I get a full, good night's sleep.

JR - I hope they are able to help your grandmother. I know the feeling about hospitals. I've been in a few times this week for visitation and it bothers me to see sick people. Especially old, sick people. And it always upsets me to see other people upset. Usually it bothers me the most to see people I know upset.

Hey DS - happy month end.

Ugh. Sorry JR. I know it's been an up and down thing with her.

We went through an awkward situation when my mom died. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon when she passed and a whole bunch of our family was there. We all moved from her room, down to a waiting area were at the same time another family was rejoicing the birth of a new child. They felt bad for us because they were so happy while we were so sad. We felt bad for being a downer on their celebration. They soon moved on to another area. It does suck.

I gotta decide what to do with my mower. While mowing at home last night, the self propelled drive went out on my mower shortly after getting started. Pushing it is one thing, but pushing it with a self propelled system that is dragging along, added that much more suck. This mower is about 10 years old. It still runs good, but it will be about $125 to replace the wheel drive system. I'm not sure if it's worth that or not.

On the up side, it IS Friday.

Home now. They think they figured out what caused the bleeding and they think it is going to be ok. She has surgery to do a tracheotomy at 12:30, so I'm going to sleep and hopefully wake up to hear all went well.

Sorry to hear about the mower web. I still say youd be better off just getting goats.

i hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good day, all. Albeit a rough one, it is indeed Friday, which means the weekend is just hours away. Today we are having the office Cinco de Mayo celebration, so I have been busily running between my desk and the break room stirring crockpots full of stuff and fielding actual work related items. If nothing else, at least I am getting some exercise today! It sure doesn't feel as though anything else is going to get accomplished. On the up side, gonna go hang out with the BFF after work for a bit so there is in fact something to look forward to today!

Pambo decided to just take the day off today. It has been a rough week for her. The neuro-stimulator device she had installed a while back seems to causing some issues for her. According to the last visit with the device manufacturer rep it is working fine, but intermittently it causes her to have seizures. She has had a total of 5 of them since the device was installed... the latest one being earlier this week. Can't get in to see the device manufacturer rep again until Monday. For now, she has it turned off. The good news in that is it is guaranteed to not cause another seizure. The bad news is that what relief it does provide, obviously it is not with the unit turned off. Sucks for her.

JR... I'm glad to hear they are getting things sorted out for your grandma. It is so hard watching someone you love suffer. Hope she stays on the upswing.

Web... bummer on the mower. It does suck pushing a self-propelled that is not self-propelling. Happened to me last summer with mine. Happily, I just had to replace the drive belt.

Fuzzy... I hope you get lots of good rest this weekend and finally get feeling better. I woke up this morning to a thunderstorm. Presently it is sunny here and supposed to be near 90*, so yep... it is gonna be a muggy beast when I leave work today. Good thing I made Kev-mo fix my AC in the truck last night.

DS... Hope your day is going well. You might be the best hope for that any of us has.

Everybody... try and have a great day.

Well, my day hasn't sucked too bad. The other girl hurt her knee and didn't come in today. Of course it's Panic Friday -- dont' believe me? Just look outside. The sky is falling -- and everyone has a little fire they need put out. I swear, they do this stuff on purpose!

THE MAN chuckled and asks, "You busy today?"
I say, "Ehh, there are moments."
Disappointed, he says, "Aww, c'mon!"
I tell him, "I'll never let you see me sweat."
He says, "After all these years, I know THAT is true."

The day is closer to over than it was six hours ago biggrin and all Mema's talk of Cinco de Mayo celebration makes me want a Tequila Sunrise...
