I finally got out and about a little today. I got the 4wd pickup stuck in the driveway and had to dig the snow out from under it so I could get to the shop to get the snow blower and scoop shovels.
This is the worst snow that I can remember in a long time. The highest wind gust at the airport was recorded at 74 mph.
This is the front of my shop/office. The snow blower is inside there. I had to blow my way out.
This is the front of the bank where Mrs. Web works. They have a small path on the other side of the drift so they can get in the front door.
This is just a pic from downtown. That is a state highway so it is more cleaned off than the city streets.
The boy wanted McDonalds for lunch so I drove through there on the way home.
This is a side street just a couple blocks from our house. No one has been through there yet.
The boy thinks this is fun stuff! There are a lot of branches down from the heavy snow and ice with the wind.
Now I'm on my way back out to see if I can get my grandmother's driveway cleaned out for her.
Its good that you have that overhead roller door. On the farm I used to have shed doors that swung out so I would have clear them before opening. Most of the time I had a tractor with a bucket so I could clean out with that. Now I just have a blower and scoop like you.
Back from getting grandma's driveway cleaned out. I'm pooped . . . in a different way than my front yard though.
The official word is an estimate of 10". The high wind is what made it so bad. Forecast is a 30% chance of more snow tomorrow then in the high 20's until Saturday.
JD, I know you Northerners know what this stuff is all aboot. This is big news for us though. A typical "big" snow for us is 6-8" with not quite this much wind.
